Don't expect Benz to keep it up or Cristiano's barren spell to last, but it's fun just to imagine CR's misery after his snub of the UEFA ceremony and Mendes' comments.
----------------------------------------------------------------------ronnie and mendes really showed themselves up as the egomaniacs they are with the sub and comments

sid lowe: "If the plans for Girona-Barça are as Cope reported (no Catalan symbolism allowed, Spanish national anthem played, 40,000 Spanish flags handed out) and the league does try to push that idea through, then I imagine reasonable chance Girona and Barça (try to) refuse to go."
how's the new stadium getting on Edin ?

Scouse trait.
Barca are just caaaaants. Their consistency is just ridiculous. Don’t think a team has ever shown the consistency they have the last ten years. 8 times they’ve got 90+ points (87 in the two they didn’t).
decent performance from spain
looked more vertical than during the WC
Luis Enrique's approach. Might work, might not, but about time we had something different. The shift was way overdue.
at least there was more pace, more incisive passing
and at times spain dropped off england , sat deeper, and played a bit of counter attack footy
they made more chances in that match, than in all their WC matches (after portugal)
what an utter serena williams is
she was being coached, Ramos was right to take a point and a then a game off her after her disgusting verbal attack on him
felt really sorry for Naomi Osaka..1st GS win tainted by booing from the horrific US Open crowd
she was being coached, Ramos was right to take a point

Has been posted elsewhere, but in case anyone here hasn't seen it, here's a lengthy interview with Cazorla, all about his injury, the road back, and how Arsenal are such a bunch of cants:
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/sep/07/santi-cazorla-villarreal-injury-arsenal-interview-sid-lowe
Sergio Ramos revealed that his family and children have received death threats following the Champions League final, where he collided with Mohamed Salah and caused the Liverpool winger to come off in the first half.
"I would have liked another reception because people only remember the action of the final, and nobody remembers the death threats that my family and my children received.
"It is a very sensitive issue that people maybe take as a joke about and whistle in a great stadium like this. My conscience is very clear. I already explained, and I do not have to give more explanations,"
"You never expect a reception that is not good because, as I said the other day, if these [English] fans have something good, it is that they have always been with the great players. It has not been like that, but I am very calm, with my conscience very clear in that aspect.
"As I said before, I have never tried to hurt a colleague. There are people who may have misunderstood it, but these are football things. It will not change anything in my game or in me."
Was despicable that those England fans booed a legend like Ramos. What he did in the final was a kindness to the rest of the UK and he should be Knighted.
The whole thing has been incredibly overblown, right from the get-go when pundits were the first to suggest he'd actually intended to put Salah out of the game.
On a completely separate note, can't for the life of me understand how Kane, Southgate, the pundits and the UK media in general can't see the foul on De Gea the other night. It's clear as day that Welbeck moves into De Gea and tips him off balance. Someone tell me how this isn't a foul:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM9jz42vXUk
What surprises me most about it is how unanimously it was proclaimed a clean challenge. Beggars belief, really.
Come to think of it though, maybe I shouldn't be so surprised considering the appalling bias the UK media showed in England's World Cup games, particularly as concerns the gamesmanship of the England players.
I honestly didn't think there was a foul on DDG, but think Welbeck did push Ramos
