My dad is an Everton fan and I was mocking him endlessly when they went to sign Sissoko. Ended up looking like a right mug a few hours later
------
Auba transfer makes no sense considering neithe him or Laca are particularly versatile (great goal scorers, can’t play anywhere else bar striker and not great build up play).
Looks like they are already admitting laca is a flop if they sign PEA.
Played most of his career on the wing, to be fair. If it's a replacement for Walcott I can see the logic even if he's not as good as in the middle.
But he never scored when on the wing and only really became good when played up top. Just look at his performance data:
https://www.transfermarkt.com/pierre-emerick-aubameyang/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/58864/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=11&trainer_id=
If he is looking to come as a winger though and they end up having
Mkhitaryan- laca- PEA
Front three then that team will be so easy to dominate
What? He scored loads when playing on the right wing under Klopp. He went up a level as a striker, but my point is that he's played as a winger most of his career. You said he can't play anywhere else. It'd waste his talents but he'd score goals for Arsenal playing on the right like Walcott did.
Yep I'm guessing that's the logic, Walcott also provided goals from wide as well so losing both and having Iwobi and Welbeck in the squad isn't great.

Scored over 100 goals for them. Which isn't too bad considering it was injury plagued. The talent never justified the hype. He got compared to Henry ffs.

Lacazette's build up play is actually a lot better than I thought it'd be (not elite though), it's his finishing that has been a let down. He's missed a lot of chances.
Walcott did have a good career with us, but I'm glad he's gone. He should have left much earlier for his own good, he only ever had one role with us.
His numbers are very good considering he's not a great player.
Also scored in 2 cup finals for us.
Walcott is the poster boy for the statement:
“The age you break through has no bearing on your overall potential”
Yeah, he was just marketed by the sharks because he was rapid and had the same skin tone as Henry. Even Sven fell for it, as did most of the arsenal fans.
Essentially any player who is successful at an early age because of exceptional physical attributes, they aren't going to go on to be a top player. It is the ones without te physical attributes who will excel.
wow federer is such a lucky
he's gonna be winning GS at 40 at this rate

Well I like the fact that he can develop, but I don’t like the fact he’s a powerhouse. There’s a lot more to football than power and size. Dembele creates by way of his ability to carry the ball drawing players towards him, but I want someone who can pick out the passes and also be good when faced with teams who press us.

Would Eriksen be any good at this if he played in a more withdrawn position?

He has been quite frequently this season, he is pretty good but our style insists on both the midfield two to be - sort of -"destroyers". Eriksen is at his best when further up the pitch and I don't want him to sit further back.
The interesting thing about our team, at its best, is that the creative influences are the back 2/3. Alderweirled, Vertonghen and Dier are the ones who create and distribute like a lot of other teams would with their midfield. Our last creative midfielder was Modric, but thanks to our CB's our team hasn't lacked creativity since.
Apart from when you had no creativity and had to rely on Bale smashing in last minute worldies.
Federer into another final.

Poch is also a way overrated manager when it comes to youngsters.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you serious? In what way?
On Eriksen, depends on how capable he is playing deep. Which would you say is his best position, because I feel he's wasted out wide but not quite quick-footed enough to be a top attacking mid.
In addition, a deep midfield organiser imo is a far more important component than a mildly productive attacking mid or winger. Being at your individual best is often not what is best for the team.
I don't really watch Spurs regularly, but what I have seen of Eriksen just suggests that in a better side he'd play a bit deeper.
As for your team not needing creative mids thanks to your CBs, I think you're just pulling my plonker.
I'm aware I'm setting myself up for a barrage of abuse but - no offence intended Edin/Leds - Poch's a nice, affable guy, but he was a bit of a plodder as a footballer, and imho his management style has that bit of a plodding mindset about it. Maybe pedestrian rather than plodding, I'm not sure if I've conveyed the idea correctly.
