Forrest started the season well then Roberts got injured so was out the team, then when he came back again he lit the place up, he is miles better than Forrest. He is worth £10m up here, down south a lot more as he is an English man, young and very talented.

I genuinely think he's worth about £12m. Of course that's just a gut feel and nothing more.

Ive not seen much of him so cannot comment but I think what Stevie is saying is that he may be worth that in EPL terms but is he really worth that in SPL terms?

Did he really make such a big difference last year as I remember Forrest keeping him out the team for a while and his scoring and assist stats are not great either

Did he make the difference to Celtic winning the treble and would they not have got it without him?

When you add wages on top of that then it is a heck of a lot of money to win a title that they could win without him anyway

Anyway, you have Hayes now as a direct replacement

Yes. He made a difference in the CL qualifiers and in the draws we achieved. That's where the money is.

I do not give a monkeys what he is valued, I am debating whether he is worth a £6m outlay for Celtic

The points put forward by Ginger go some way to justify such an outlay, but this argument that he set the place alight when he came back from injury just doesn't wash

As already posted, when he was fit and in the matchday squad, he was either on the bench or subbed off in over 75% of those matches

Niko Kranjcar is head and shoulders above every single midfielder we have, but we struggle to get him to play 90mins, so from that point of view, he's a luxury player that we have in our ranks

Given the game time Roberts got last season, even when fit.....is he not also a luxury player to have?

You must be joking. He is one of the hardest working at the club. Plus his end product is out of this world. The fact man city still want to keep him tells you all you need to know.

Stevie, I think that we should agree to disagree and wait to see if any move materialises. If Paddy joins Celtic we will see over the season his worth to the club
