Agree with all this. In fact I'm wondering if I changed my username and wrote it.

I get that fans want to see us progress even more, but also you have to take stock of where we are now which is one of the best run clubs in europe, and a world away from the mid table dross from the Sugar days.

Even I am a little worried that we've signed no one yet, but I do believe there's a plan and trust the club to carry that out.

I think I'm right that fergie won the title one year despite not signing anyone.

Selling Carrick, Modric, Berba, now Walker and Rose? Have we continued to move steadily up the table?

Well said.

We're aware of the good work he's done but it doesn't mean he can't be criticised when he gets it wrong, which tends to be most transfer windows. Most of how well we've done in the past few years is down to Poch, rather than Levy.

We challenged for the title without Rose for half a season, he would be a loss but nothing critical.

I don't understand the flak Levy gets, his running of the club has got Spurs competing with clubs with much bigger spending power, maybe he's been too tight this summer but looking at some of the figures for bang average players I'm not surprised. I admire Spurs a bit for not giving in to this crazy spending culture.

Agreed SLS. I'd much rather do it the way that we largely are than by buying more Sissoko's at £30 mil like the rest of the market seems to be. I'd love our club to set an example for how a proper Premier League should be run.

This is also true.

Although I don't think we are in a position right now to say whether he has got it wrong this window. We'll be able to judge better in a couple of weeks.

Right back or no right back, meh. That Burnley striker just went for nearly 20 mil. Look at the bigger picture. We have continually improved the squad to the point we're title challengers!

Constructive critisism is fine, we aren't perfect. But Levy and the club are/have been doing an incredible job to get us where we are. Poch is a massive part of that, but he was a Levy appointment. As were Ramos(fail), Redknapp(success), AVB(middling). Point is we have absorbed the failures and player sales and continued to move up the table, even when competing with mega richclubs.

Show a bit of faith.

OP, are you happy that the Club have sold our 1st choice right back and not replaced him? ( despite 50 mil sitting in that bank )

Are you happy that we are the only top flight club in the country to have not made a single signing ? ( despite last season proving clearly our squad was not good enough for the CL )

Are you happy that the wheels are slowly looking to come off as our players are clearly not happy with our lack of ambition ? ( Rose is not the only one and anyone thinks he is are incredibly naive )

Are you happy with just a measly 2 league cups on over 20 years of Levy's leadership ?

Are you happy that despite us mixing With the big boys, we pay by far the weakest wages out of all the top teams ? And then wonder why players eventually will start to get unsettled.

Levy has worked wonders with the bussiness side of things but the football side of things ( transfers ) he is clueless. Waiting around until the last minute has achieved what ? Oh right it got us Sissoko. Sorry mate but some of us are a bit fed up of Daniel Levy's ways and feel has been shambolic this window.

Yes, going from title winners to falling out of the champions league places is progress

Fans protesting every week is progress

Must be school holidays with muppets like this one having access to the home PC

I think several on here take my general support of levy to mean that I automatically condone all his actions and think he cannot do wrong, which just isn't true.

I have expressed concern through this window that the squad needs work as my assumption is that we are trying to win the league this season.....

however, people like Don suggesting that levy has to go for the club to move forwards, are just being ridiculous

Anyway I have said my piece. I'm not going round and round in circles with chronic again and again.

SLS

Top post mate

The reason we cannot spend fortunes on transfers or wages is simply that we don't have the cash , a stadium half the size of Arsenal or United , no sugar daddy which is why all available dosh is going on a new stadium to be able to match the other top clubs

We will soon be up there where we belong so all my Spurs buddies give Spurs some time , we will get there

What if we lose Toby and some others due to money??
What annoys me is we can afford more wages.
We got 50m for Walker alone. That’s equivalent roughly to 2 years of a 50k a week rise for all the first XI. And once the new stadium is up we can afford it even more. No excuse on the wage front levy.

Respect your views on here Don, just this is just a long winded way of repeating every post you put up at the minute.

Happy that we lost out first choice right back? Trippier was a replacement I was comfortable with to go into the season with.

Could or should we have won more? Maybe, but in that time we were never up there with the finest in the country whilst competing for those same cups with them.
Now under that same leadership we are competing.
And excelling.

Can we afford the wages of the top clubs? Probably not, we just don't have the revenue for it. Will we once the stadium that this chairman has got us into the position for? Yes.

Only midseason Poch said we were ahead of the timescale with the team from the plan he and Levy set out.

Levy should be applauded, and is by most. Transfer windows are always dull, 3 months waiting for 3 signings?! Boring. But we still have one one the best sides, best managers, AND best chairmen in the league.

Don, the football side of things is not just transfers. It's winning football games. Something which we've been doing more and more of. I don't disagree that we have made and continue to make mistakes in the market. But you can't argue with our results. This summer hasn't been good, but last summer was Ok we got Wanyama and Davies, the one before was fantastic. Overall we're moving forward and that's what matters.
