Pretty sure this would have had to happen, Newport are still technically the home team
Pretty sure past owners would have been against it!..
we don't have to pay them anything if we don't want too i believe.
"how a club should be run" and Leeds United in the same story. Who'dda thunk it.
Brilliant move - even more proud to be a Leeds fan - we all know what would have happened with previous owners.
Why 45% I wonder and not 50% after expenses, expenses include police, cleaning, ticketing etc I guess.
I also assume we get to keep all profits made at the ground such as catering, programmes, car parking etc.
Yes it is a good gesture but could we have gone further?
my guess is previous owners would have been looking payed for the ground rental
I don't get why this is a gesture
Rules are clear, each club gets 45%.
That's exactly what we are doing
LIW - the way I read it was because they are not able to play at their ground we did not have to give them anything.
According to the wording Newport Chairman graciously thanked AD....etc.
So must be different set of rules if you elect to forfeit home advantage?
Rumoured to be paying Lashers medical bills as well.
All looks abit of ars elicking to me.
Rules are the gate money is split 45% each after expenses.
Just giving them what they are due
No more no less
LIW, so why is the Newport hair an coming out with this statement? Not consistent with your theory.
I really don't know
https://www.efl.com/clubs-and-competitions/carabao-cup/about-the-carabao-cup/carabao-cup-rules--regulations/
The rules are black and white
45% to each club.
I do not understand why anyone would think this game would be any different
Only difference is there will be more fans, so bigger cut.
Perhaps this rule applies to games re-scheduled at a different ground:
21.3 For any match ordered to be replayed in consequence of a breach of Rule, the Club in default shall not receive any share of the proceeds of such replayed match (except travelling expenses and hotel expenses calculated in accordance with Rules 20.4 to 20.6) without the consent of the Management Committee and such consent shall only be given in special circumstances.
It's the only bit of the rules that makes sense of the headline and the statements from Newport County.
Thank you 43, makes everything completely sensible, except LIW, that is!

Yeah heard that too. Fair play.
My guess (and that's all it is) is the rules are 45% each but you can't switch from a home gate where you'd get 45% of say a 5000 crowd to one where you'd get 45% of 20000 as tghat would be unfair to home supporters of the small club
All Rad is doing is recognising there's a legit reason for this switch so offering to share as if it had been a normal draw
Good he's done it, to be honest though it would be very greedy not to
It's a positive media headline, whatever the technical rights/wrongs, makes a nice change eh ?!?!?
Agreed 2020, nice to see you posting again.
