should we have played bennett and/or batth ?
Dicko blows a good opening
5 added should be at least 12
Think that's gonna be it.
nuno got sme work to do now
Pity the ref didn't see their keeper just walk out of his area with the ball in is hands
The Warnock way: win by any means.
Now Nuno knows what the Championship is all about!
Argghhhh.
Think Cardiff just about deserved it to be honest, we never really got going but for tiny spells and defensively we are very rocky.
Ref was crap and sided with them for just about every fifty fifty by the end.
Shame they scored the second against the run of the play just as the momentum had swing in our favour as we looked like we might take the game then.
Still think 4-2-3-1 would work better and allow us to have Cav, Eno and Jota on the pitch together with a striker rather than having an either or with cav and Eno.
Fall short at the first team that plays in your face football. Nuno has his work cut out now. Plenty more teams will come and do that now they have seen that it's effective.
Mendez-Laing was always going to score too.

Puppet's dinosaurs did well today, sadly. That always seems to happen when they're mocked.

Not sure we learned anything we didn't already know to be honest, it is no surprise to see teams try and unsettle a comfortable passing side.
We will get beat a number of times this season so I am not going to panic and ultimately even on today's poorer showing you can see we have a lot of quality.
The defence is what concerns me and I can't decide whether it is just ruddys poor command of the box or just defensive lapses causing the problem.

Surprised to see champions Burnley los to wba as well.
Cardiff did a job on us today ok. The cynical tactics of Warnock certainly won the day but Cardiff certainly deserved their win and always looked more likely than us to score. Very impressed by Zohore, wouldn't mind him being the striker we bought in, and Cardiff would be a lot weaker without him.
Quite a few of the Wolves players fell below the standards of the opening games. Miranda and Saiss particularly poor and the wing backs rarely got any penetration down the wings. And Ruddy didn't look confident dealing with the crosses.
On the positive side I thought Neves and Jota kept going when others were flagging and Bonatini did well despite getting a real buffeting from their defence, and Cavaleiro did well when he came on.
But the main feature of the game was Cardiff's cynical game plan and a very weak referee who never got to grips with the fouling which started from the word go. . Cardiff got away with lots of fouls, and time wasting and it's been many years since I have seen so many fouls off the ball. Bonatini, Neves and Jota were continually being hacked down before the ball got anywhere near them and the ref seemed to not even notice, although he got no help at all from his linesmen. Jota got an elbow in the face near the end and the linesman was a few feet away but didn't do anything
2 teams have played it rough and both beaten us.
next up is brentford and millwall, usually football teams.
after that is bristol, forest, barnsley, sheff u and burton all of whom can dish it out.
nuno has got to learn and quick
Difference is that Cardiff can mix it up but they also have some genuinely talented players whereas a lot of those sides you mention don't.
If that is our next seven games then I expect at least four wins from it.

Excellent summary, DJ, and much appreciated, by me at least. I think the result shows that we have to be flexible in how we approach games, knowing that there are numerous ways to skin a cat, and we're going to come across many experienced managers who will try to out-wit us.
