WHO THINKS THEY KNOW BETTER THAN CONTE

I have no problem with the Llorente signing but I can't understand the logic in getting rid of Chalobah AND Matic and replacing them with Drinkwater, Unless he's been told he will be 4th choice and will get limited minutes in the league.

In which case paying 30-40m is ridiculous****

That's me crying by the way

I'm not spoilt, far from it
We are very light in squad numbers this is true however most of my points are based around drinkwater, he is at best a decent player, he is a decent player in a top ten team.

However he is not Chelsea standard, he doesn't get anywhere near our first team fabregas kante bakayoko are all ahead of him and even in a 352 start ahead of him

The money being quoted for him is insane considering we let chalobah get to the point where he wants to leave the club for a pittance and is a more gifted player and arguably a better player now.

It's not about being fecking spoilt it's about questioning the decisions of the key decision makers, not Conte, he's the coach.

It's utter madness that we should sell chalobah without attempting to give him first team opportunities and spend 40m on a player who unless we have 2 injuries in our midfield will not start a game.

It's the market we are in, yes it's difficult but we should adapt far better than we have
Llorente is a wierd one for me but meh

Both he and drinkwater won't be at the club next year if they sign i can guarantee you that. Llorente will get. Year out of it and drinkwater will go on loan and we would have spent £55m

Madness

PS firstly we do not know what happened with Chalobah, he said on TV, that Conte was totally honest with him, now did Conte say he would get game time but could not guarantee, etc. and Chalobah made the decision to go.
Now to Matic, firstly 40 mil for a 29 year old was too good to turn down, however I think CFC did not want to sell, it was Matic that forced it and once they want to go then let them go is my opinion. However I will nevr understand Matic wanting to play for Mourinho ever again, it was Mourinho that totally destroyed Matic confidence and it took us over a year to get him back to something resembling the player we first had. As I said I will never understand Matic on this point

Drinkwater is a strange one, there must be 20-30 better CM's for the price Chelsea will end up paying.

Lloernte would be a good signing, offer us something different up front if we are chasing a goal.

Drinkwater is a squad player at best and we do need them. I do think we need to be looking at improving our 1st team if we want to challenge for the PL and get to the later stages of the CL though.

We seem obsessed with trying to get bargains and paying £25-£35m for players (except Morata) if we want to complete with the very best we will have to start paying the going rate for these players.

The only thing I really cannot understand is the Oxlade one.
If it is true he turned us down for whatever reason, is it not really simple to avoid things like this by simply contacting he's agent telling him we will make the offer to Arsenal and if it is accepted will he move to us.
He says no, we make no bid, how hard can that be.

Maybe the thought process behind the move for Drinkwater is the partnership he had with Kante?

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Poor squad planning and handling of youngsters has got us to the point where spending £60m+ on two 2nd/4th choice players seems reasonable. We need to reassess how we do business because this is not sustainable - especially with a new stadium on the horizon.

Chalobah had more than enough opportunities to impress on loan, proved nothing more than to be a good Championship player. Flopped in one PL loan and barely played at Napoli - not Chelsea standard.

Drinkwater's decent/a definitive upgrade on Chalobah. The money is excessive but that shouldn't matter to you based off your previous posts on that subject.

Well if he wants these players then that is fine by me. He knows more about football than me about any of us on this board will ever know.
I cannot believe some of you are questioning he's decisons on what players he wants to pad out the team.

CSTP the issue I have with a few people on here is, there has been moans and groans about strength of the bench, so CFC trt and do something about it ie Llorente, Drinkwater, Ox, possibly Barkley and then what do they do moan about them.
What do people expect we can go out but 4 world class players who would be happy to sit on the bench and plays a few games.
All I have heard is youth this, youth that so do they want 6 youth players on the bench with very limited experience and have no one who we may be able to bring on and change the game .
And besides that the window closes tomorrow, who knows who we could bring in, there could be a major 1 or 2 surprises by close of the night.
If Conte consisders the players we are linked with are good enough to do the job, that is good enough for me. If they all turn out to be useless then we can all say something. But for one player ie Drinkwater I really feel they are being extremely harsh, he is a very good solid player with bags of experience

If he was that keen on those players, I don't think we'd still be without them with a day left of the transfer window. Everything screams of desperation and a last ditch attempt to just find anyone available to make up the numbers.
