and who's fat Ronaldo of Man utd?
For doing any trick Messi could ??
No, what Steven said was "anything Messi can do, Joe can do if not better" no qualifiers to say he was talking about a paticular part of his game...
Anything, I repeat anything Messi can do, Joe can do. Its crazy before we even add in the if not better part...
Secondly the only thing Fergie said was they have similar attributes, heres the quote. "He was a very aggressive attacker as well who could look after himself. So can Rooney. There are similarities that way in strength, speed and determination."
He doesn't once say "Rooney can do anything Pele could do, if not better" he says simply they have similar attributes...
No grudges held though Ill put it down to a scousers education rather than any malicious intent...
Forget fergie look at the comments by some of the utd fans. They are putting rooney up with pele!
"But he is white, completely white."
im guessing there must be some context to that statement, seems a bizzare thing to say
Which bit of what he said is wrong?
Talksport have already picked up on it this morning with Alan Brazil having to think long and hard if Rooney is as good as Pele.Comical.Comparing him to Pele is not even worth debating
I think Sir Alex has also compared him (Rooney)to Best, Gazza and Charlton. If only Rooney would perform for England like Gazza and Charlton did.
The White Pele,The Ugly Best,The Sober Gazza or Charlton with a Syrup,no doubt the comparisons will continue.
7 of the best,
As usual you have omitted the part when Gerrard said "on the training field". He was talking about Joe bringing his form in training onto the pitch.
Resorting to taking comments out of context shows you are weak of mind.
The fact that Fergie mentions Rooney and Pele in the same breath is laughable considering Rooneys patchy international and club form. I don't remember Pele holding his club to ransom either.
i would think Rooney is a damn sight nearer to Pele than joe cole is to messi.A like for like comparison of rooney & cole would be van basten and gary megson

so, this article is by a liverpool fan, about quotes attributed to the united manager, about a united striker. have i got that right?
anyone care to explain why it's tagged on the arsenal board?
Again, which bit of his quote is wrong?
debating over the minutest of details ugh it's so boring. gonna take another hiatus i think
The strange thing is, is that when Gerrard compared joe cole to messi, most Liverpool fans were thinking "why did you say such a stupid thing". But when ferguson compares Rooney to Pele, Utd fans think this is ok? That is amazing.

Rooney is nothing like Pele, its a bit daft to suggest otherwise.
It's clear that the OP struggles with basic comprehension.
Education is still a problem in scouseland

Education is still a problem in scouseland
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet Utd fans dont see anything wrong with comparing Rooney to Pele?
Because Rooney has had a good start to the season, he is suddendly being compared to the most prolific striker to have ever graced the planet. That is delusional.
What is wrong with education in scouseland? Must be good if it produces the "white Pele".
Nobody going to tell me which bit of the quote is wrong?
I take it a reporter asked a question about the white pele name and Fergie gave his view.
His view being they have similar speed, strength and determination, is he wrong?
Just comparing Rooney to Pele is wrong.
Simples.
I am guessing Ferguson was asked a question by a journalist which meant he had to compare the two.
I don't think saying they had similar aggresiveness and determination is the same as saying Rooney is as good as Pele was. I don't think it even comes close to it, as aggresiveness and determination, although a great assest of Peles, was hardly the main factors that made Pele one of the greatest ever players.
Utd Fans do realise that if a rival manager said this about one of their players you would be all over it like a rash. Don't deny it.

The white pele's football skills have nothing to do with education. However, the scouser who posted this article as well as the other scousers making stupid remarks clearly demonstrate they lack basic comprehension skills. Or struggle with comparisons and contexts in which words, or phrases are used.
Therefore we can assume that basic education is absent in scouse land. Hope this helps
rooney scores a hatrick against bolton and now hes better than pele?

Another scouse example here. This one clearly can't read as the article doesn't day anything of the sort.
Can we all see the pattern here
