Silver the English education system has always been chaotic.
They have 24 different exam bodies.
You don't have to have a degree in Geography to teach it there.
Scotland was a world leader.
In a decade the SNP have brought us tumbling down the rankings.

I got out just in time
I've friends who are teachers and a couple are already thinking of another profession.
Kept in touch with my old maths teacher too, and he took early retirement a couple years after I left as he could see the writing on the wall. A real shame as he was an extremely good teacher.

It's the economy and employment that really irks me.
Politicians always use employment figures and GDP as if they're true indicators as to how everyday folk are coping. While ignoring the real issue of wage stagnation, increasing prices, unaffordable mortgages and rents, ever increasing debt (as folk need it to live day to day) etc.
They're absolute shysters. Only politician I've ever liked was a Charles Kennedy as he was genuinely in the game for the betterment of others.. and he could hold his own against the shysters.
That Mhairi Black seems alright but give it a couple years and she'll probably have that good will knocked out of her.

The employment figures for one.
Yesterday a think tank highlighted how real term wages have decreased by 10% in a decade.
The government response.. but employment is the highest it's been in years. Aye that's great.. everyone has a job, but at what cost? If those jobs won't pay enough to actually allow the person to pay for a roof over their head, or food on their tables.. what use is it other than to increase GDP and fill executive pockets. I mean, those second holiday homes won't pay for themselves.
The Archbishop of Cantebury made a point.. 30 years ago when he was in business, executive pay was 20x that if the average worker, and the bap was seen as too big then. Its 150x the average worker now. That's quite frankly disgusting.

I mean they're unnaffordable to anyone who hasn't got student debt, or had to scrimp and save for a decade beforehand while putting the rest of their life on hold. Even then it's granny or the folks who helps to put toward the deposit too. Either that or they have to rely on debt.
If you're young, you can pretty much forget about having your own house until you come into money.. which is Isis ally the result of a grandparent etc dying. How sad is that. Meanwhile you have to stump up extortionate rents, just so your landlord can make a buck from you while paying the mortgage off on their property while you're at it. More than likely one of many properties.
Our economy is so backwards, or loaded toward those who already have wealth.
Only people holding it back are the politicians.
Just look at Germany as an example of a thriving economy, with strong unions to curtail the excess of executives, with workers working less average hours yet with higher wages.

You look older than 18 at JA gatherings Silver.
I started teaching in the mid 70's.
It was a Golden Age I can assure you.
Resources, optimism, schools with swimming pools, school leaving age
raised so that all pupils had accredition not just the privileged few.
Kids from deprived housing schemes going to Oxford and Cambridge.
A great era with brave innovations that actually worked.
Our school had a swimming pool but I hate swimming so would always pie it and go get stoned instead
Would miraculously reappear when we moved on to good sports.. Football, rugby, badminton.

Aye but you're Sellick.
As fond of water as the Wicked Witch of the West.
Thing I'm really sad about is this.
With the Tories a disgrace as ever and TORY Blair New Labour.
Golden opportunity for the landslide SNP to show their quality.
All the social justice stuff they said the English were depriving us of.
They had a decade to reorganise Scotland into a shining beacon of
Equity and Inclusion.
What did we get?
An overturning of local democracy with a Thatcher style
Council Tax Freeze Order.
Salmond and / or Sturgeon met with Rupert Murdoch 24 times in 4 years.
It took them 2 years to admit that after umpteen FOI requests.
David Cameron met with him 4 times in the same period.
The Sun has backed the SNP at every election for over a decade now.
Why would that be I wonder?
Salmond supported by Sturgeon cuddled up to Donald Trump to overturn
local democracy again and get the toxic Trump golf course.
He called it in and said the course should be built where some families
had lived for 3 centuries.
They had the chance to make Scotland different.
Scandalous.
Zach hates Dugdale - a stupid Tory who's never held Office.
So do I.
That's a dim flashlight 3 miles off compared to my contempt for these
useless fvkers who've been in Office for over a decade and have
overridden local democracy jackboot style.
Quinny some force of nature in the Carribean 😱 😱 😱

Did I ever tell you I don't have much faith in the SNP?
I need to take a chill pill.
Been getting booted into English Tories as well on other threads.
But they're lighweights compared to our SNP Cheerleaders on here.
Which appears to be most posters.
Ah well sure at least Brexit seems to be going smoothly
Try to hide yer disappointment when I say I am turning in noo.
