We need another striker who can average a goal every couple of games. Maybe we have him already.
Reading that last night's goal was Danny Batth's 5th in his last ten starts
We are paying the price for not buying a striker in the window. Definitely 2 points dropped last night in a game we should have won.
Roll on january.
I didn't think it was a penalty either. I was right in line with the handball that was given for their penalty and that was harsh to say the least. Interestingly, the nearest official, the linesman was also right in line and he didn't give the decision. I thought the referee had a mare of a second half to be honest.
One thing I was also pleased with was the way our players continued to battle throughout the game - considering we were told that our foreign legion of superstars would not be up for it on a cold wet evening, they were still there. Cav and Leo in particular were very impressive and never stopped running.
Yes the ref was poor. Although their penalty was fortunate because the cross hadn't travelled far, Vinagre has his arm outstretched and it hit him and unless the player has his arm by his side, they tend to be given.
Cavaleiro certainly had one of his good days and was involved in many of our best attacks.
we seem to be following the pattern of previous seasons oif being better away than home -
2nd on away form
8th on home form
Went last night. Entertaining but ultimately frustrating game. Some very good performances. Thought Cavaleiro had the best performance I have personally witnessed. Batth and Jota had good games, also quite impressed by Vinagre and N'Diaye, but for me the best player on the night was Doherty, particularly in the first half.
Obviously I'm biased but the "offence" for their penalty happened right in front of me and I genuinely didn't see it - although I might have blinked. "Our penalty" was at the other end of the field and looked nailed on. Haven't looked at the highlights yet but will do in a mo, without my gold coloured glasses.
Ruddy - 7
Doherty - 8
Vinagre - 7
Batth - 8
Miranda - 7
Coady - 7
Neves - 7
N'Diaye - 7
Jota - 8
Bonatini - 7
Cavaleiro - 8
With regards the ongoing striker discussion, with a player like Dicko (at his best) or SEB for example, I do believe we might have had 2 or 3 more goals. Still not totally convinced by Bonatini.
We might have had more goals, but three should really be enough to win a game
The challenge of Batth looks worse than it is after you watch it a few times, would be annoyed if it was given against us.
Anyone see the Doherty offside goal from close up, that looked real close to me as well?
Very short highlights

Oh yeah it was bad sportsmanship alright and that's a very sporting bear hug that Enobakhare is getting in the background.
I think Jamie McAllister needs to dry his feckin eyes!
Feck me, even bias spiers gave Cavaleiro man of the match
Had read umpteen reports and cav was man of the match in a majority of them so I figured I would get a laugh from spiers not giving him it. #stunned
Do think we need to be careful with some of our touchline antics gem, as a few have touched on, it really could go against us at times.
Bonatini will get better I feel, as the season goes on. He's where he should be for these tap ins and his assists are good too.
I'm not a fan of zonal marking which allows players to get a run onto the ball while the defence virtually stands still.
Early days, but two points per game is a darn good start and I do feel our away form will again be better than at Molineux.
Zonal marking can kiss my plumbs!!!!!!!! Pick a cowing man!!!!!!

Got that lot coming up at the weekend T youngest step daughter is off the Manchester Met.
Missed the match tonight, am in Hanover for 2 days. Sounds like we've had another shocking ref tonight. And some dodgy defending as well by the sound of it. Did well to dig in and grab a point though I suppose.
Had the pleasure of watching the Celtic match with a Celtic fan and two French guys. The froggies didn't really have a clue but it was still funny.

I was pretty much right in line with the linesman when Doc made his run. Unfortunately, the linesman was spot on as he was offside. He flagged straight away so he was sure.
Same linesman did not flag for the handball which I originally did not think was a penalty but having watched the highlights (sober) have changed my mind
Ha yeah, watching the penalty decision again there is no doubt his arms are out, an error to expect from a lad playing his fifth EVER senior game I suppose.
Couldn't tell with the doc one but looked real close the only time I saw it but happened fast and was a nice move altogether.
Gem - City showed great sportsmanship on many occasions. Deliberate fouls to break up our swift moving attacks etc.
However, I am surprised that there was no mention of the Saiss incident. Should have been a drop ball (why aren't they contested anymore?) and Bristol players assumed Saiss would give the ball back. Instead, he passed it to a teammate and we went on the attack - shame it didn't result in a Michael Branch type goal.
Yeah the Saiss one I mentioned last night, got a big cheer from the crowd.
I'd be interested to know what the ref said to Saiss. Wolves were in possession when the game was stopped and I wouldn't be surprised if he told him there was no need to give the ball to Bristol

no need to address me as his majesty ... but yes
Hi chaps
Judging by the comments on here you probably feel annoyed that you didn't win this one, as you had the better of the play and possibly should have had a penalty(?)
From my perspective, although the above may be true, to let slip a lead at 85 minutes - however against the run of play that lead may have been obtained - is equally frustrating for us.
I admit that I would have taken a point before the game though!
looking forward to the return fixture - another 6 goals perhaps?
