All those years you have had issues with me dealing with the simpletons.
At long last you get it.

Rashford made Lukaku look world class yesterday. |Does he not know that you are supposed to put the ball between the posts and under the bar; not in row z?

And he had a break from an injury and yet still managed to outscore Lukaku.
Anyway, early days in the season. Kane can catch up. United haven't played anyone particularly tough still.

Lukaku has a pretty decent record in big games to be fair. Better than people think
1 in 1 against Real
5 in 12 against Liverpool
5 in 13 against City
And that's (the last two) with poorer service then he got at West Brom and Everton
This season so far he's got a better shots to goals ratio than Aguero, Jesus, Kane and Lacazette so he's also not some miss machine either
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For me it's more a question of the evidence before my eyes than stats. Does he look like a player with the quality to regularly make a difference in matches against the very best PL and CL teams? I'm not convinced. Obviously I hope he does.

Why? You were almost insinuating that Lukaku himself would lead to you getting a title, so same could apply at Everton.
Could it be because of other factors and not just down to the striker?

Yep. And Spurs with arguably the hardest fixtures - 38 away games.
Don't get me wrong, I think United will definitely pose a serious title challenge this season. But There form is a bit overrated considering they've played mostly relegation threatened teams and a very mediocre Everton side.

We'll see how they do next month with harder fixtures.
Spurs drew at home to a team we beat 4-0 away from home- they also drew at home to Burnley
Hardly the hardest games ever
To be fair it was these 'easy' games that we messed up in last season.
Of the five games we've played so far this season we've collected four more points at 0.8 point more per game compared to the same fixtures last season.
If we can do that over the season we'll get 30 points (rounded down for fairness) more than last season which will take us to 99 points. I'd take that now.

That's the danger for them really. It could well be all too easy to blame Wembley and use it as an excuse if things go wrong. Spurs are a quality side but they do need to get some silverwear sharpish. If I was them I'd be aiming to win the League Cup as it's a competition that you are able to do well in with not many games if you do take it seriously.
