The match thread can be the hub of many great debates, a place for jubilation or home of many vented spleen. It can withstand banter, pisstake and ridicule. It is even the den of Bute's constant goading of our American guests.

But if you want to discuss USA sports such as w@nkers rugby, rounders or netball you can feck right off and do it somewhere else!

I trust the above is absolutely clear ?

If we are being constrained on topics we can talk about on match threads, I am going to take a knee for the next one.

Yes being a consistent scorer was the only thing that stood between Doyle and being one of the best centre forwards in the uk. Certainly Arsenal and Everton were two clubs that wanted to take him off our hands at one stage. But his lack of goals weee more to do with the way Wolves were playing at the time. When McCarthy realised that the 442 that got us promoted was too open a game for us to play in the top flight, Doyle became the lone and sometimes isolated striker in a 451, and there haven't been many players I have seen make a better fist of that difficult role than Doyle

I'm glad you pointed out the fact that MM realized that 4-4-2 wasn't going to work for him in the Premier League, DJ.

In fact he changed to a 4-5-1 system in the home game against Liverpool in January 2010. That was shortly after I started saying that he was out of his depth by insisting with his 4-4-2 playing style. However things and results didn't really change and he often reverted back to his familiar style, more so when Fletcher arrived.

Regarding Doyle retiring from Football, you're right cinci, there was a movie about head injuries in the NFL and it was called Concussion. I saw it some time ago and starred Will Smith as the doctor who presented the facts to the NFL.

Bute, just for your info, the NFL tried to sweep the whole issue of CTE under the table. However, years later after another player died, the doctor was vindicated and the NFL started to take the subject seriously.

It's a very powerful movie should anyone want to watch it

Yes I remember you saying McCarthy was out of his depth halfway through a season where he was taking Wolves to their highest position in the league pyramid since 1980. How Wolves fans wish we could one day find someone so out of their depth again

But yet a poorer position that 34 other clubs since 2000

I also remember that you kept telling me that things would get better and he was the man to move us forward DJ. They didn't, yet you continued with your rhetoric. Only after he was sacked did you finally accept the fact that he needed to go.

Finishing 15th, 17th and 19th wasn't exactly moving us forward and before you or anyone else states that he left before the season ended, we were on a downward spiral with little or no chance of recovering

We were 18th when he was sacked for the record.

If anyone's interested, there is another forum called Molineux Mix where discussion is about Wolves and not playground squabbling.

posted on 29/9/17

Not sure you should be advocating posters move to another forum. Plus a few on here go to that one to get info.

The playground squabbling would stop if Halfy would do a Thread on a Friday. We could talk football stuff not old vendettas? Selfish he is!

As well as Mason being unable to play against his parent club, two of Burton's first choice defenders picked up hamstring injuries against Villa the other night, so you would hope we would get back to winning ways against a struggling and weakened Burton team

hope so Spangles, but we know nothing can be taken for granted, first Saturday game I will be missing for a while but will go to a National League game with my son .I see we have 5500 tickets for Man City I wonder if there will be any left for members as I would not mind taking a couple of days off to spend a bit of time in Manchester and of course see the game

The playground squabbling would stop if ALL posters could agree that we all have different opinions on players managers/coaches and the like.

Unfortunately there are some who are still holding a grudge from the old BBC606 days.

I notice that Graham is once again left on the subs bench for tonights game against QPR. He's had 11 mins playing time, coming of the bench once since his move. This will be the sixth game Fulham have played since he moved South.

Why do we send players out on loan if they're not going to get picked to start? We may just as well keep him here and give him valuable game time off our bench.

posted on 29/9/17

because maybe if he isn't good enough to play for Fulham, nuno doesn't think he is good enough to play for us?

JG shows some talent at times but I don't think we sent him on loan to fine tune him for a future at wolves. we sent him out to get a loan fee, and put him in the shop window for a sale. sadly he's not doing himself any favours in that direction yet.
