Well it seem that Halfy's match threads are the gift that keeps on giving

Made hard work of that. Went ahead against the run of play, improved to earn the win. Then almost gave it away as we kept giving the ball away and defended poorly.

Terrible refereeing performance as he let Preston get away with loads of free kicks without showing yelling w cards. Lost count of the number of times Jota was fouled as they targeted him.

But Preston were the better team for all but a 20 minutes spell in the second half. Passed the ball better and created more openings as our attackers were snuffed out.

A number of below par performances today. I thought Douglas was poor and Miranda not much better. Enobakhare poor when he came on and Costa still looks very rusty. Need to give him 90 minutes at Man City.

But delighted to get the result in difficult conditions against a team that were almost as rough as Cardiff. To get three goals on a bad day has to be encouraging

Too much stopping. Too much olding. Lookie for goals second half. Mistakee can cost us bad moments. Too much olding which is not part of football.

3 points is all that counts and we will have more of these results throughout the season. We'll not be able to put on a good show in every game, as teams like Preston will try and stifle us.

England u17s beat USA 4-1 today to qualify for the World Cup semi finals. Gibbs-White started for England and scored the third goal
