Will likely see retirement age pushed to 70+, Tories looking to slash civil service whilst civil servants are striking. It's gonna be strange days ahead.
The police commissioner doing the media rounds this morning on radio is spouting calmly what is nothing short of facist doctrine relating to the police's own and made up policy of arresting and detaining journalists with force who are reporting on these oil demonstrations, which is perfectly legal and required.
It is all very, very worrying.
Aye emboldened by media and successive home secretaries he's got a bit of power creep on protestors and doesn't want to give it up
Typical filth closing ranks and protecting each other when they fack up too
Its all down to the police not the politicians who are making these decisions themselves to silence opposition and reporting of events they dont want us to be told about. 1930s Germany.

Its the old trick. Do you want a pay rise or stay in your job?
As things stand in the U.S. House, Republicans are projected to win 210 seats to Democrats' 192.
The GOP has netted a gain of 7 seats thus far. That number is subject to change in either direction, given outstanding votes in 33 races currently too close to call.

That's the kind of guy he is.
He also had a stroke recently, so maybe just for comfort.
Aye he looked really cool
I remember Fetterman when they were recounting the 2020 results and he accepted no schit.
'Bout time a Dem with a pair got elected.
He reminds me a bit of that Mack guy who runs the rail union.
I read his whole family were republicans too, it’s nice to see a kid not follow in their parents political footsteps.
‘Ex-US President Donald Trump has lashed out at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, as the simmering rivalry between the two top Republicans boiled over.
Mr Trump belittled his former political apprentice as an "average" governor, lacking in "loyalty"…
In a lengthy statement on Thursday night, Mr Trump dismissed the Florida governor as a political lightweight who had come to him "in desperate shape" when running for his first term in office in 2017.
"Ron had low approval, bad polls, and no money, but he said that if I would Endorse [sic] him, he could win," Mr Trump said. "I also fixed his campaign, which had completely fallen apart.”…
He went on to complain that Mr DeSantis - whom he is nicknaming "Ron DeSanctimonious" - was "playing games" by refusing to rule out a presidential bid.
"Well, in terms of loyalty and class, that's really not the right answer," Mr Trump added.‘
Looks like there maybe ample opportunity for the Reps to tear themselves apart over the next 12-18 months.

He still has a vast cult-like public support amongst the hard right though, and seems determined to run.
It’ll be interesting to see how DeSantis’s team decide to position him: will they try to win over the MAGA/QAnon/ alt-right crowd to eat into Trump’s support at the (very high) risk of alienating small-c conservatives and swing voters; or will they pivot back towards the centre-right and risk losing the support of the evangelicals and hard right?
Personally, and as things stand, I think the policy positions of both candidates just don’t represent enough of the US public to get them elected. (Yes, I know Trump was; but he’s pivoted right on several issues since his election, and he lost against a crap candidate last time out.)
If DeSantis continues on as he has about abortion, for example, he’ll lose. Period. Literally every single state that had a vote on abortion in the mid-terms voted to strengthen or protect abortion rights. Not a single one voted with the Reps, even in very strongly conservative states. It’ll make life very easy for the Dems if he continues as he is on that particular issue, for example.
Nothing will be easy for the Democrats of Boden is the nominee. DeSantis is nearly half his age As long as Biden is cognitively sound it *shouldn't be an issue, but it most certainly will be, absolutely the Rep. main attack threat.

I think she’s probably a little divisive, but I expect she’d run if Biden does step down.
Purely from a marketing perspective, the Dems seem to me to have a bunch of fairly strong candidates (Newsom, Whitmer, Buttigieg and Warren, despite her politics) and a bunch of potential disasters (AOC, Hillary, Cuomo and Manchin, who will be bankrolled to fack if he runs).
The worst possible outcome for the Dems is Biden running, the party rounding behind him and him having some kind of meltdown.
