BTW.
Full disclosure in case you still really don't understand: I am neither pro nor anti-Israel. I just want the Palestinians to be left in peace, and the Israeli hostages to be released.

Nothing more, nothing less.

I hope I won't be tarred on one side or another.

I understand your position, no judgement from me on that. I just disagree on the Bibi point is all.

no worries . let's hope there will be no more suffering.
I am hopeful that the clear minority of Israelis can divert from the current course, along with UK and US leverage.

If Netanyahu was really the only one that wants this he would have been deposed a long time ago. There’s huge governmental, military and civilian appetite for what Israel is doing. Surely this is obvious? These kind of actions don’t just happen at the behest of one man.

surely you know about democracy, right? The majority wins. What about the minority?

Naive? Name any democratic country where populsr vote wins elections.

‘Hitler was just misunderstood’ is the prevailing narrative on right wing Twitter (or just Twitter) these days. It’s incredible how far holocaust denial has come in such a short space of time.

"twitter/X is a cess pool these days" is a common refrain from twitter/X users.

My point is any true democracy will have a majority and a minority of electorates. Apologies for the confusion.

The Grenfell report is even more damning than you might expect. If it doesn't lead to corporate manslaughter charges, then you have to wonder if that law is fit for purpose at all.

Another reason to ignore the deregulation half-heads, deregulation = a reduction in safety + more profit.

If Badenoch hoovers Patel’s votes up in the next round hopefully it’ll scare one or two of the less shall we say… fascistic contenders into coalescing behind a sane candidate.

We live in a world with James Cleverly as the sane candidate. Its all so very bizarre!

This is only the first of many tory leadership votes well be seeing over the next 5 years.

I've not read the report but the buck stops with the architect if unsafe materials were used or with the main contractor if the architects' specs weren't followed.

Either way there's blame to be apportioned and there's no excuse for any lack of criminal charges.

HSE pays far higher wages than the NHS. My brother is a physio working in Manchester and would get up to 4x his current salary, before tax, if he moved back to Ireland to work for the HSE
