Friend of mine has pre-school age children in Germany - their nursery place is free from the age of 1 until they go to school.
I’m paying £1800 a month for one kid to attend nursery each day so my wife and I can work.
My friends decision to have children was entirely based on whether they wanted to be parents. For many in the UK affordability is a big part of that decision.
