Imagine expecting pensioners, farmers and parents with kids in private education to pair a fair amount of tax
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps they're not big fans of being able to get a doctors appt, are happy bring on a hospital waiting list for years, or don't need to rely on the police or judicial system should they ever be a victim of crime. Then again an angry letter to the Mail or Telegraph is more than compensation for not being able to do any of the above.

Utterly brilliant the way that the supporters of this woeful government (on here) overlook that most of the big hitters in the cabinet took their photo opportunity and talked up the plight of the Waspi women.

As with everything else it's the previous government's fault. They had 14 years to prepare for this and they literally haven't got a clue what they're doing.

If you were a Labour back bencher with a small majority and Reform breathing down your neck you'd be pulling your hair out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I like the way you literally ignore the 14 years of incompetent governance, which you have whole heartedly supported, and then call a government that has been in office 20 weeks ‘woeful’.

Don’t you get embarrassed?

Ps. You don’t give a sh!t about Waspi women.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How incompetent must the opposition have been for the Tories to keep on winning? Less than 20% of the voting public opted for Labour because we knew they’d be 💩, and we were right.

What lies did they tell?

A manifesto pledge is a lot more binding than the populist support they may have given to WASPIs while in opposition
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Once again the way that Cabinet members behaviour is dismissed as unimportant is hilarious. They wore the t shirts and gave it the big one on behalf of the Waspi women giving them lashings of false hope to secure their votes.

As usual it's Starmer making promises he had no intention of keeping to get elected. Just like his Labour leadership campaign.

Surely there must be some Labour voters on here who are honest enough to admit that free gear Keir is a lying con man who shouldn't be anywhere near the top job.

To be honest, I'm glad a government is making decisions that are unpopular with certain groups but are made with the benefit of the economy in mind.

It's much better than the make believe politics of 'this benefits everyone' whilst the economy crashes and wealth disparity grows that we have had from the Tories in recent times.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
we all know why you thinks it’s a good idea, it’s because pensioners, farmers, and parents who pay for private education are more likely to vote Tory.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’m pretty sure he’s said it’s because it has the benefit of the economy in mind. It’s right there look. See?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know what he said, that doesn’t mean I believe him.

If the Tories had won I don’t believe for a minute you lot would be champion these policies, especially those targeting pensioners.

Slavery was an injustice (and worse), doesn't mean I think we should pay reparations.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
A good number of ‘Project Fear’ predictions have been right on the nose:

- Permanent downward adjustment to GDP of 4% (literally bang on)
- Pound will dive bomb and cost of living increase due to associated import costs (pound still down 12% vs rate at Brexit vote)
- Exports will be hit and there will be more, not less, red tape to deal with (goods exports to the EU are 11% below their 2019 level)
- NI will necessarily be left in trading limbo, and trade with GB will be hit
- City of London will see job losses and massive capital flight ( >10,000 jobs lost to EU, €6bn of European stock trading lost overnight, £900bn in bank assets moved out of London)
- Long-term inward investment will be seriously compromised (by 2035 projected to be more than 32% lower than it otherwise would have been)
- Farmers will be no better off (lol)
- Worker shortages will mean the govt will still not be able to bring net immigration down towards five figures

Etc. etc.

Next time someone squeals, “ProJeCt FeAr!” hear that as project fact.

Shouldn’t forget those great new highly valuable trade deals with the likes of the US and India that BoJo said we’d have in place in a matter of months.

Where are we at exactly with those now again?…
