I'd do away with foreign, usually nationalised, companies buying privatised vital infrastucture in the UK who charge us extortionate prices whilst subsidising cheap bills/prices in their own countries first.

His reference to it being “more of a team effort” can be read as a polite way of saying no thank you, without looking to offend those who would be unhappy at him declining such an award.

FWIW he would be a deserving recipient in my view, but I fully respect those who choose not to go in for such things.

The honours system is a pile of 💩

Rewarding limited sporting success and yet across the UK every day there are plenty of average folk who go above and beyond to help others and improve others lives

They should be the ones honoured/rewarded IMO
