You've looked like a proper team for a good few years now, you need to win something sooner or later though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why? This team could go the same way as the really good Newcastle or Leeds sides of the 90s/2000s. This team is giving spurs fans some great times and memories, that’s what it’s all about
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? I'm surprised a Spurs fan would have this mentality. Nothing compares to the feeling of winning a major trophy.
Plus it helps with continued progression, if you don't win things players will more than likely leave for clubs that do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe it's been too long for us to rememberbut honestly I look back at our CL run to the quarters season or the previous one when we took 4th spot at Man City with much fonder memories then the League Cup win vs Chelsea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And to add to that, I can remember clearly the Crouch goal at the Etihad, and Bale ripping Maicon time and again at WHL, and Lennon's run and pass at the San Siro etc etc.. much more than who lifted the cup - think it was Keane and King joint effort but can't be sure.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Those were good memories for those times but now we've improved our perception of what would be a good memory should too. Like, if we were to clinch 4th place now I doubt we'd be as happy about it. We don't want to turn into Arsenal.
South Side
I'm around the same age and growing up supporting Spurs in the late 90's and 2000's was shiittee
This all started with Martin Jol for me, the influx of talent brought in with a savvy chairman to control the finances
Just happy he took over, Alan Sugar was no good for us, the progress is good but for me we need that trophy
Don't get me wrong, of course I want trophies but it's not the be-all and end-all for me. I'm just enjoying each season. Honestly don't think you can really WUM a Spurs fan who's late 20s early 30s at the mo cos this is the best we've ever had it
Martin Jol was a quality chairman tbf...
Put it this way, Leicester have won one more major trophy since 2008, but we’ve been consistently top 6, now top 4, 3 Champions League seasons, winning lots of games, some great players and games to watch.....who would you rather have been supporting since 2008? The answer is obvious

I think the views expressed by me and a few posters is the total opposite of what their fans have turned into. Know one knows what the future holds, enjoy it while it lasts. Whatever that success maybe. The positive side to that is that we're now set up to achieve the impossible. A league title.

I hope we can win it. Going to be really tough though, especially this season. We need City to start dropping points and I don't know where they will.

Spurtle , city will drop points mate no doubt about it. It's wether we have the bottle to take advantage ? We have a habit of failing to take advantage when given opportunities. That's my only gripe with Spurs at the moment. We need to really learn from our mistakes and pounce on any city dropped points.

Take your point don, but to be fair we hardly had a smell of an opportunity with both Leicester and Chelsea. Both were dropping very few points once they went 5-7 points ahead, I can only recall the arsenal game in March 16, when we drew and could have gone level I think? Our form second half of both seasons was pretty damn good and they just didn’t give us any room to catch up
Hopefully this year will be different but it’s already looking like it could be groundhog season!!

Well Don, they're 5 points ahead now, and we face United away while they're facing West Brom next. It could be a case of what advantages we get given being meaningless anyway.
Need someone to start taking points off them.
Actually think we had another opportunity in the Leicester season, at West Ham and we lost 1-0 in January....so 2 opportunities lost that season but don’t recall one last season
Sir Tottenham , no the Leicester season we bottled it at Upton Park remember ? Totally froze that day mate and let the atmosphere at that s** hole frighten us. We could of gone top that game and put the pressure on Leicester. Who knows what would of happened. Last season Chelsea obviously couldn't stop winning at one point but we had a few opportunities to close the gap but didn't, all I'm saying is when it really matters, we tend to go miss out on the last hurdle and that's why our trophy haul at the moment is so poor. We need to win trophies this season be it Fa cup, but we need to win something if we are not winning the league.

Our time will come. I'm in no doubt. If we keep this group together, move into the new stadium with Champions League football next season and strengthen again we'll be in the mix. Remember this is all being done on a budget. Once we've got the resource behind us and our pay structure increased, the managers stays, we'll be laughing.
