Derby peaked a few years ago under Steve and are on a downward trajectory.
Forest Bottomed out last year and are on the up.

We'll leave it there.

Well your "on the up" team got beat in 24 seconds. Ill leave that also.

7th with a game in hand, yeah this downward trajectory is a tough cross to bear

So are you a better team or worse team now, than you were under Steve, when Keogh got QPR promoted?

posted on 8/11/17

We were a better team than Forest then and we are better than Forest now. That is all you should be bothered about.

I know you are in the Autumn of your years, Spart but that was not what I asked, so I'll reword it for you...

Are you better or worse than you were when you lost at Wembley to 10 man QPR?

Probably better placed than that season at same stage. But im sure season finishes in May so hard to tell at this stage.

What was the score again Strett?

Far better, without doubt. Seriously. A far deeper and better squad. Better managager too.

I'm sure Forest fans say they will finish above us every season. You lot are the Audley Harrison of football fans. All talk.

Not to worry, I googled it instead.

It was 1-0 to QPR. 90ty minute Zamora winner.

Poor Keogh. Was that when he cried?

No Backo, I enjoyed watching our improving team playing the better football.

Easily pleased u street. I thought Forest were powder puff. Soft under belly and pass for passing sakes. Don't think u touched the ball after Nugent easily scored a 2nd. But go on.
U see em most weeks...i see em twice a year..same old same old. 2nd best to Derby. Pretty much a Fact.

I'm surprised u didn't play Dowell tho after u all been praising him so highly

Most Rams fans I know agree with me, but the machismo partisan nature of a multi-team forum, does not lend itself to self criticism in front of your rivals.

I agree when Nugent scored in the second half, just after we clipped the bar, Forest lost a bit of zeal and as a competition it was effectively over.

Derby do have some quality players that, given time and space can hurt any team, that's what Forest were guilty of. You'd expect them to spending that kind of money; but you'd be kidding yourself if you think you are a good team because you are distinctly average.

Dowell has only come good in the last couple of games; you could see the quality from day one. He's the kind of player that just finds himself in space and seems to have more time; a bit like Will Hughes used to be with you lot before you decided to sell him.

Many fans were questioning why he is in there as his performances were questionable but he seems to have acclimatised well now and is a future star in the making.

Haven't you spent £100m over the last few seasons Strett. That's what feckwit reckoned.

If I gave 666 a grand he’d probably blow it on kebabs and the like.
Getting value or buying well is something Fawaz is monumentally abysmal at.
All the signs are indicating we may turn a profit this year, which would be nothing short of magnificent.

Both teams are in a period of transition.

MW seems to come out throwing haymakers which is fine but I think Caniggia said QPR were the first team to give you space this year as Hull and Forest did to us. MW’s success will depend on finding that balance between defence and attack, my only concern would be that he does appear to be a bit of an ideologue in the attacking game. Forest like to overload the opposition half in exchange for defensive solidity. So far against disciplined teams this has failed. Letting you play and catching you on the counter or pressing high up the pitch is a tactic that beats MW often. I think with all due respect some Forest fans are mistakingly thinking this means they’re the ‘better’ side.

When you can play attacking football that balances itself with defensive discipline you can claim superiority here. You look a decent enough team with the ball, during transitions and without the ball a bit of work to be done.

We on the other hand are transitioning from a possession based side with Pearson-esque signings to a counter attacking unit. GR seems to have begun to address our defensive frailties with the signing of Joe Ledley albeit at the expense of our attacking game.

January could be make or break for either clubs. There are question marks over both our owners. We both seem to be in a period of sensibility which hopefully will mean we’re on a bit more of an even par, than previous years.

If either manager goes I think both teams could spiral quite quickly.

When Forest's latest dodgy owner is locked up they will go in to administartion.

Everton will recall Dowell.

If I gave Strett a grand he'd probably blow it on a piece of crap with a designer label. The The Hyacynth Bucket of JA606.

Louis Vuitton do a golf bag; that's about 3k. Even I'd not have that.

How do they justify these price tags other than there is always someone with an inferiority complex and too much money, stupid enough to pay it?

Saw this article today.

An analysis by accountant PwC and thinktank Demos ranks Birmingham as the most rapidly-improving city in the country, and places Leeds, Newcastle, Derby and Liverpool among the top ten places on the up.
