Theres a difference in how they achieve the lending outcome between Nexo and Celsius but from a user perspective they offer roughly the same service

I had an issue with Nexo today and they solved it within an hour. Let's not get carried away with FUD.

Anyone else's friends and family who have never been into crypto in the slightest before, invested in the last couple of weeks?

I really hope it's the beginning of mass adoption.

Yeah, my brother was going on about it the other day. He generally invests in more stable and less volatile investments like gold or silver, but has put a bit in crypto. Small amounts though, only £500 or so on low priced ones.

Does anyone think it’s possible that even the low priced ones might be sound long term investments with the potential to grow exponentially?

Market cap is what you should be looking at imo not the price

posted on 17/2/21

Yeah thanks Blarmy I did hear about that. So does the higher market cap mean it’s a more sound investment?

Also though, doesn’t the market cap grow as the price grows?

I try to read up about them but I do find it a bit confusing

Its just the price on its own doesnt mean much

The value of all the tokens together does though

posted on 17/2/21

Is there a way to calculate the tokens cumulative value - I guess that’s number in circulation x current price ?

But then the price changes the market cap increases, no ?

comment by Blarmy (U14547)

Yeah circulation of tokens is tracked

And yes the price increase would increase market cap

posted on 17/2/21

Ah ok thanks.

Sorry, I know you say market cap is important, but isn’t that essentially determined by price, so as price increases do does market cap. So it seems the two are inextricably linked, so one can’t be considered without the other ?

And is it also better to look at tokens where there are fewer in circulation, so more scarce ?

Sorry for all the questions

So some tokens have a max supply

Like BTC for instance

Although BTC wont reach the max supply in our lifetimes apparently. It gets harder to mine as fewer tokens remain

Im not clued up on the economics of scarcity tbh but the max supply being met on several big tokens might make a more interesting market

Ah ok.

I guess I will just keep reading the updates on here and have a look to see if I can get more information on line.

Many thanks for your help

What did you invest in Edbo?

I invested around the same time but the volatility was stressing me out, so I cashed out. Wish I hadn’t now, but I’ve got back into it and will just leave it and top up each month

Better late than never I guess !

Hi all. I have made a few bucks out of some Monero I bought in Jan.

I would like to invest the profit in more crypto, not necessarily Bitcoin as I got in earlyish already

Any suggestions. It would be a medium to long term investment
