If people chase ROI ignoring utility they deserve to lose money tbh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a terrible way to look at it. Not everyone is intelligent enough to understand asset classes, markets and risk, a lot of people get caught up in the hysteria of wanting to make a quick buck and can still be good honest people who don't deserve to lose their hard earned money but get sold a dream/conned into the scam that is Doge.

Imagine if that happened to a family member of yours, your Dad, your Mum, your Granddad etc, it's no different to a pyramid scheme.

Increasingly worrying the lack of moral values people hold themselves to in society these days.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wtf is this mess. If people do not do research nd chase ROI at the expense of common sense how the f*** is that my problem?

No one should invest or hand over money without having some understanding of what they are investing in, especially if it's fuelled by the fear of missing out.

Crypto is no different and blaming me or saying I'm a bad person for calling out stupidity is.....stupid. Do you realise that it's all this dumb money that'll tank crypto and cause the bubble to burst? If there wasn't any dead money in crypto it'd be wayyyy more solid. Why should my investments be destroyed by the actions of idiots
Wow, how did I miss this huge bite.

Must have hit a big raw nerve there somewhere.

Wasn't even specifically referring to you but hey, whatever, board that Doge train that has already and will continue to destroy the reputation of the crypto market, you obviously already have.

Hilariously OTT response.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wasn't responding to me but replied to me 😅
I laughed. Your logic is like blaming people who told people not to invest in bad dot com businesses as the reason for the dot com bubble bursting 😅

I have 0 doge and would never invest in 5hitcoins. If that isn't clear from my posts then I'm lost for words. Soon as u called doge a pyramid scheme I switched off so no offence taken.

posted on 12/5/21

And I stand by the fact if you chase greed and part with your money without proper due diligence like u would in any other walk of life, all for the fear of missing out, you're an idiot. Simple. Even if you can afford to lose it.

That's the difference between gambling and investing.

That's all fine

But pump and dump ≠ pyramid scheme
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The way the viral pumping and dumping happens for Doge it is almost exactly like a pyramid scheme.

People who buy Doge now don't make a profit unless 2 people buy after them and 3 buy after those and 4 buy after those and so on, because there is no other reason for sustained trading volume, there is no utility, there is no real product. That sure sounds familiar - oh wait that's what pyramid schemes do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pyramid scheme is when you have to recruit new members to get paid a return. You can buy doge and make money without recruiting any other investors.
Doge isn't a pyramid scheme. You're welcome.

One coin was a pyramid scheme. One that was even endorsed by the FCA because they had no balls. Clearest example of a crypto ponzi ever. Totally different

Yeah, Doge is it in terms of the Crypto space. Absolutely no utility or future, the same technology as Bitcoin 100% (so 1st gen), no development, no plans for development and minting more coins.

Oh and 90% of Doge is held by a few people who are continuously dumping.

If you are serious about Crypto you will just avoid that mess completely.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bitcoin has no value as a currency, there's not enough supply for it to go global, in this respect DOGE actually has more potential.

Bitcoin is becoming a commodity, not a currency.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Bitcoin is broken into satoshis so it has enough supply. If you are talking about using crypto as a currency a tiny % qualify. Certainly excludes bitcoin and eth (pre patch)
No way does that mean Doge becomes a better coin based on that alone when u could use Litecoin as an example, which is better than doge and has low transaction fees.

Doge is alive simply because the meme generation refuse to let it die and a few whales control its swings. Nothing else. To suggest it's better as a currency than bitcoin because it has unlimited supply and low fees seems a bit 🤔 when there are much better alternatives.

You're completely missing the point.

You're not going out and bringing in other investors yourself, the Discord Pumping Servers and Reddit Channels are basically doing all that for you. You are not making money off Doge without the trading volume increasingly dramatically and that is very much pyramid like.

Not sure why you are saying: "you're welcome" to me.

You're welcome.

Congratulations, two people who can only think of the exact definition of a pyramid scheme and their brains won't allow them to develop that ideology any further into how that would evolve in the cryptocurrency space.

I only take W's.

What a bunch of touchy doge investors.

So you're re-defining the meaning of 'Pyramid Scheme'?

Why not just think up a new expression so there won't be any confusion.

posted on 12/5/21

I always said it's virtually a pyramid scheme, I never said it's the exact literal definition of one 🤦‍♂️

We don't need a new definition for this either, the way it is being virally pumped and dumped for a small few to benefit and a real small few to make a fortune it is as close to a pyramid scheme as we have right now in the cryptocurrency space.

I’ve currently doubled my money on doge, and I expect that one day it will run again.

So I believe in the tech? Well, no, but then I’m not in it for that, I’m in it to make money.

Bitcoin isn’t the best tech; but was by far the best investment.

I don’t believe crypto will take off for the best part, a couple may have real world use in the long term, but if the tech is useful (it is), then banks and other sectors will easily create their own product and centralise blockchain.

Doge is pyramid scheme like, but what crypto isn’t? Ultimately, you buy it at a value you hope will grow so you can one day sell it for use in the real world.
