The peak of the game was the first football manager.
Not really suitable for children. Wouldn't imagine anyone under about 12 or 13 really getting it.

Played it briefly years ago
It never interested me TBH. I preferred FIFA or actually going out and playing football

2007 is the ultimate version in my opinion.
2007 was pretty good. Preferred some of the ones from several years ago when you could openly talk about other managers without being prompted. Used to take aim at the likes of Mourinho before they had a big game and question his ability, even if he wasn’t in the same division as me

The PC version is too complex to be enjoyable these days.
The FM 18 mobile game is where it's at, brings the game back to 2008 PC standards.
