Nope, a lot of blokes round here wear shorts all year round.
I was in East London on Saturday and it was about 2 degrees, there was a bloke walking round in a t-shirt and shorts. Absolute nutter.
I wear shorts all year round and I am a northerner.
As soon as I get home tonight I am outta the shirt and trousers work malarky and into shorts and a hoody for evening relaxing
shorts in the winter its long johns for me with extra drop crutch for comfort
The posties started it round our way.
this nonsense "fashion" with men wearing shorts all year, and some wearing flip flops most of the year whilst out and about began in the mid 20s
absolutely shocking it is

I work in shorts all year round, come rain or shine. But I'm a northerner and not a southern puff.

I'm a southern poof.
It's absolutely freezing down here, why would I want to wear shorts and be cold when I can wear trousers and be warm?!
Fack that!

Well the more north you go the colder it gets so you lot should be like speedo mick!
I wear shorts at every opportunity. 1000 times more comfortable. In winter I'll wear them round the house and if I need to pop to the shops then I won't bother to change, but if I'm out for the day I'll put trousers on...and be less comfortable but slightly warmer

Wearing shorts is actually very effeminate. Showing off your legs for the blokes down the building site are we, sweet cheeks?

Builders up here prefer women DJ but you bunch down there can carry on ogling the fellas, each to there own.
No shorts in the winter for me. I suspect a lot of them feel as though they’re ‘hard’ by doing so. At the end of the day if you’re a grown up and you’re trying to portray some tough guy image then you need to sit down and evaluate yourself. If it’s because you’re just not cold then fair enough.

Pure comfort for me
Plus for the blokes down the building site.
Postman round my area in Chelmsford wear shorts, mental
Only postmen wear shorts in winter. Something to do with packing them in each year buys the beer. Something like that
I've never been as far south as the north.
I have definitely noticed it in the last couple of years in the East Midlands/East Anglia.
Must be some kind of masculine backlash against perceived softening of blokes.
There is no rational reason for wearing shorts in winter unless you see doing exercise/physical work.
I’m noticing it more and more now days , you must be demented to wear shorts with how cold it is lately.
