Man Utd have set the fixture for the Friday because they didn’t want to play on Sunday in case they have a league cup game the following week. Can’t play saturday against Derby because the Manchester City are at home.

So why is it ok to charge Derby fans more than Burton fans?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why is it Ok for the likes of Liverpool and QPR to dump travelling fans in restricted view sections at £40+ a pop?
That’s just how these things go sometimes.
One thing you can guarantee for your £45 is a full view of the pitch, which is more than I’ve had on some away days for a similar price.

Ok, I hadn’t bothered to research into that. I just assumed it was another case of the typically can scheduling we often see. Still, when else could the game have been played? Not sure the price would e been different.
Carabao Cup is cheaper because nobody wants to go, including the away fans. If it was Carabao Cup your allocation would be 2k and you probably wouldn’t fill it.
So Burton paid £36 for an unrestricted view of your stadium..Burton 18 year olds paid £10, Derby 18 year olds have to pay £35.75. Your not making much sense.
Was going to this but wont now. What ar$eholes ManU are.

I’d say it’s consistent with what United season ticket holders themselves would be paying. Forgive me for not caring but I’ve been ripped off as an away fan many times. Nobody is forcing you to go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That kind of patronising arrogance from a part time, plastic, bit supporter is symptomatic of someone defending the indefensible. Don't worry 'I'm alright Jack'
If Derby had done this, I would be outraged and would be in tune with other clubs supporters whether they were Chelsea, Man U, Man City but maybe not Florest

Your question has been answered. Supply and demand. The demand for CC is negligible and always has been.

It’s not patronising arrogance. It’s fact. All clubs rip off their fans. I stopped going because I was wasting (yes, it is a waste) several grand a year following United all over the place. I actually go to more Championship games nowadays for exactly the reason you’re complaining about, if I need a football day out fix.
So you are ripping of Derby fans
I think United actually just hate Derby and their fans. They wouldn't have charged any other club so much.
Lambeau, whatever way you put it, £45 for an FACup 3rd tie is a joke.
Do ManU season tickets include FA Cup games?
What did we charge Utd fans when they played us at Pride Park. That was a Friday night game as well. Was it £38 or something ridiculous? We complained then. They also get a better seat in a nicer stadium at Derby. Mel should contact the FA and say we aren't bothering.

Nail on the head.
Wanchope really did pee them off.
They have charged what they think they can get. They could sell all 75000 tickets for this match at a lower price (say under £40) but would still sell a significant number at the higher price. Even if the gate is 10% lower they would still make more money by charging the extortionate fee.
No wonder the FA cup is dying on its arrse.

No, but you’re obligated to buy them. Mine was always £45. Likewise for CL and Europa.

Those rates are consistent with what United fans pay to go. I don’t see why away fans should get a cheaper ride than loyal season ticket holders...

Away fans in the PL pay £30 to go to Old Trafford

No doubt as a match thread regular you wouldn’t have any idea anyway

Everything about this is very poor. To get to Manchester after work on a Friday will be very difficult for many fans, both home and away. The allocation is tiny and the only justification for this is setting the prices so high and the timing so inconvenient that fans won’t go. It’s clearly an intentional move by Man U to try to restrict the away support as much as possible, but why?
I will still try to go just because my boys are both very keen. Otherwise they could stuff it. I’ve been to Old Trafford plenty enough times and seen a few decent wins over the years so it holds no especial attraction for me. It’s an enormous shame. Could and should have been a great occasion and in the Cup I think home fans would also agree that a large away contingent makes it so much more of an occasion. The reverse has applied at Derby in recent years, when Southport brought a good few for example. Make the FA Cup the people’s competition. It is no skin of Man U’s nose with all of their other fish to fry.
