I'm pretty sure the Gary Neville one was a 2-1 win at West Brom, not Stoke.
If I recall correctly didn't he say that after that game, despite the result, he knew he wasn't up to it anymore?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah, it was Stoke.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was definitely west brom mate
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2033387/Gary-Neville-I-sat-toilet-West-Brom-knew-I-playing-game.html
wouldnt have Neville in there.
it wasnt a bad performance as such, he was just at the end of his career and he knew it by retiring straight after that.

That is not the game I am talking about, I'm talking about where Etherington roasted him so often he had to get subbed off at half time.

Yeah, but if you look at the date of that game (posted in Winston's link) it's 24/10/2010. The West Brom game was 1/1/2011. So it seems doubtful Neville decided he was quitting after Stoke to play 2 and a half months later.
Plus if you read his comments in the acticle I posted he references the Stoke game as a game he was poor in, but states the WBA game was the one where he realised he wasn't up to it anymore.

In fact he quotes this:
'The end came for me on New Year's Day, 2011 - and it came on a toilet at The Hawthorns. It wasn't the way I'd have chosen to finish, but I knew for certain that this was my last game'
Pretty conclusive
Neville had talked about quitting after Stoke and been persuaded to play on for a season by Ferguson and Phelan.
Then the epic NYD appearance came - one that will live long in everyone's memory!

It was the Palace game I was talking about.
I'm aware of that Rob and I'm not disputing it.
However the discussion seemed to move on to the game in which Neville knew he was past it, which appears to be West Brom as confirmed by Neville himself.

I never said anything about the game in which Neville knew he was past it.
But, to the point of the article, the Stoke game wouldn't be voted as the worst performance by a fullback, because the same fullback had a much worse game against West Brom a couple of months later

Sanchez vs Darmian
Darmian still hasn't recovered, he is broken.
.................
This is probably our one for sure.
Right up until that game Darmian had looked to be a very good find indeed.

I don't agree, he was horrendously bad against Stoke.
johan djourou vs fulham and man utd in the 11/12 season
think he got sent off vs fulham and hooked at half time vs man utd for nico yennaris
he was out of position but still no excuse for a defender
Still wasn't as bad as the Palace one.

was the fulham game when you were 1-0 up and conceded twice late on, think Zamora scored a volley?
In the right back position, any of Ivanovic's games at the start of 15/16 season. Think Swansea particularly bad.
Others I can recall, Franz Carr ended John Millar's career when Forest beat us 6-2 at Bridge... 86
And John Barnes tormenting Colin Lee in 84 when he played for Watford
Kyle Walker had one in a 4-2 loss vs Chelsea that was particularly bad (I think it was that game) Mata/Hazard made him look a fool.
