Only Wolves v Mick on 606, to everyone else it’s Wolves v Ipswich who happen to be managed by a former very good Wolves manager. McCarthy may have been the topic of debate every week on here for the last 4 years and you know you are treading on eggshells every time you mention his name for fear of inspiring a cinci inspired soap opera of stats and slatings, but as with the last three years I can’t imagine McCarthy even being mentioned by the 20 or so people I will see for the game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This in droves.
I'm off to watch Wolves Vs Ipswich and while I'll politely clap MM when he emerges from the tunnel, I'm hoping and expecting to give them a hiding.
Only on 606 does the claptrap between Isle of Bute and Cinciwolf carry on to such an extent. Both are WUMs and each of them respond to the other person's WUM despite them both knowing. How dumb is that!
Nearly as stupid as blocking someone and checking whether that person has made a remark prior to logging-in. Let's face it, no one would be daft enough to do that so why respond to an obvious WUM!
Morning all
I promise not to mention Mick at all on this thread.
Doh!

working gem - going to the brentford game
LONG THREAD BUT WORTH A READ: (Source: Wolves Analytics)
As we are approaching Christmas, and Wolves fans are writing their letters to Santo Claus for new players, I thought I’d have a look at some of the regulations that we need to be aware of during the January sales.
This isn’t including FFP. We have a net spend of £9.4m so far this season, and I will update this figure as we go through January. Rather, this is looking at regulations regarding match day squads
First, match day squads can only include five loan players https://www.efl.com/…/efl-rules--regul…/section-6---players/
We have five loan players: Alfred N’Diaye, Willy Boly, Diogo Jota, Rúben Vinagre and Léo Bonatini. This means that if we signed another loan player, to play them, one of these would have to be left out of the match day squad
Boly, Jota and Bonatini are obviously in the first choice 11, while Vinagre and N’Diaye have proved themselves important members of the squad.Of course, if any of these transfers are made permanent during January, this does not become an issue.
Now, Vinagre has missed a number of match day squads this season, and this is because of the second regulation we need to be aware of:
Basically, a match day squad needs to have at least 7 ‘Home Grown’ players, where a home grown player is someone who has played in England or Wales for 3 years prior to their 21s birthday (https://www.efl.com/…/efl-rules--regul…/section-5--fixtures/ &hellip
By definition, this then means that a match day squad can have a maximum of 11 non-home grown players. In recent weeks, we have had 8 non-home grown players starting, plus three more on the bench.
Boly, Douglas, Doherty, Neves, Saiss, Jota, Cavaleiro and Bonatini have all secured their places in the starting-11. We have then had 3 of Miranda, Costa, Vinagre and N’Diaye on the bench
If we were to sign another non-home grown player, we would need to be leaving two of these out of each match-day squad.Costa and N’Diaye are both very close to the first team, so presumably it would be Vinagre (who missed a number of match day squads earlier in the season) and Miranda who would be left out (presuming there are no contractual obligations to play either)
This isn’t impossible to sort out, just something to think about when we are all wondering which of Jorge Mendes’ clients will join next.
(Massive thanks to @Wolves_Academy for the help in determining who qualifies as home-grown and who doesn’t)
Some people have asked about the data. Virtually none of it is mine, I'm bringing together different sources to paint a picture of Wolves

I think that info about the loan players is why we will look to make a couple of the loans permanent in January. The same agreed fee is available to us until the loans end at the end of the season but by signing now we open the door to bringing a couple more in on loan if we wanted
After the cold snowy weather recently, today is a sunny day and about 10 degrees. Feels like spring. Won’t be a white Christmas here
Read that a while ago gem and found it interesting and it does explain the sudden absence of certain players on occasion from the squad.
Think we shall see Costa start today, probably in place of Cavaleiro though I would perhaps rest Jota given we will likely see a heavy handed Cardiff approach from Ipswich today.
Alas I am in Ohio without the lap top so I won't be able to watch the game
Bit gem will keep me updated nicely I am sure
Gonna be a white Xmas here, 3-4 inches forecast over the weekend

Suspect someone will feed off that comment should Ipswich get a result
Shouldn't make a difference really as Ipswich bypass midfield anyway.
