I think cinci is talking about the goal Douglas scored from a free kick, Bute. However, I think it would have curled in anyway as his free kicks start out wide and then curl inwards. A great dead ball specialist.

Funny really that he often gets overlooked during the game as he isn't as 'busy' as Doherty going forward but boy is he a real threat from a dead ball.

Most productive full back since Golbourne

BC have loaned Golbourne to MK, remember being gutted when we sold him he was one of my favourite players in our L1 season.

Ricketts was #1...

Yeah liked them both and always thought Ricketts was probably more important to that squad than many realised.

Golbourne had a hand in so many goals, double figures for goals and assists that year I believe

Interesting highlights. Only the second time I've seen the Batth red and haven't changed my mind about it being harsh. Commentator shares my views about Batth's studs not being raised but a heavy touch meant he careered into the Bristol defender.
Also read that NES says Wolves will appeal against the red.

Arsenal fan here.

Congrats on your win. Think you are the city of the championship. You’ll win the league easy. Let’s just hope you haven’t got any arsenal dna

My brother all happy. He’s a big fan of wolves

Wolves won't appeal the red card, its obvious to anybody with a footballing brain that you can't do that in today's game. Tackles like that can end careers and need to be outlawed from the game. Maybe in the 70's but not now.

Even with ten men, Bristol could not create chances other than a well worked goal when we got ourselves out of shape after committing men forward (harsh but I thought Saiss was at fault) which shows how good we really are defensively.

We don't need to settle for draws with the array of talent we have, which I think we all saw last night. Understandably, the Wolf head curse makes the threadsters twitchy but we've moved on from them days and this new breed of European players have no fear or trepidation.

Well done Nuno and the boys !

I think you need to explain to NES that he hasn't got a footballing brain then, Sir Halfy.
I don't think they will contest the red either as it's a debateable decision, not an absolute wrong one as the law says something about "in the referee's opinion". Still think it was in no way a red and at worst a yellow. Just so pleased it had little bearing on the result, despite spoiling an hour of the match for me.

Nuno said he had no problem with the red although he was too busy giving it large in the Brizzle directors box!

not worth an appeal IMO

i think the red card was harsh, and the ref got a bit excited as he was live on TV, but a panel won't overturn the decision. it isn't an obvious error, just down to different opinions.

overall a great win, and like the first game v brizzzle at our place we showed fighting spirit and quality right to the last whistle. nuno was very good in his after match interview, saying that he hadn't seen the red card incident yet (a touch of the wenger) and that he needed to go in and apologise to the referee for encroaching on the pitch. amazing how he can be so controlled within minutes of the game ending and so passionate during it.

also, hats off to johnson whose post match interview was as good as nuno's...fair, no whinging, backed the ref on his player's red card, and recognised what a good game it had been between two of the top sides. colin wancker, steve bruce, steve cotterill and others could all learn a lesson on how to behave with good grace and dignity.

Probably is a bit harsh to blame Saiss fully for the goal. He did commit to the tackle rather than covering the space, which in the end took two Wolves players out the game and ultimately ended up causing Bobby Reid to be in loads of space for the cut back. However, it was a poor pass into Douglas and then a poor touch from Douglas that led to us being stretch. Shared blame for me from those three players. It was a good quick move from Bristol City, but it was also the first time we dived in to win the ball back rather than retaining our shape.

The thing that frustrates me about Saiss, is that the same people on MolMix give him MOM every game, regardless of what happens. It kind of ruins the verdict threads for me, as I can’t take any of their ratings seriously. There are some posters that do the same with Cav every week too.

I thought the two most influential players last night were Cavaleiro when he came (he had a stormer) and Barry Douglas with his set pieces. Ultimately though, it was a great team performance. Felt a bit for Costa though, as he isn’t a player who pops up in pockets of space or plays with his back to goal (something which Bright and Cav do well in that area) as he was made to do following the sending off. As with Jota, he is a player who needs someone to work off or to pick up the ball with players to run at. He struggled a bit last night, as did Jota.

Nuno actually said after the game that they would appeal the red card and I think they should. I thought Batth was unlucky. He got to the ball first and his feet remained on the ground. The club might decide with s cup game coming to take a suspension then but I think it would be harsh on the player

Agree with the comments on the Bristol manager who seems a decent guy. And Nuno is a real contrast between how he comes across before and after games compared to during the game.

Look forward to another full house game at Molineux on Tuesday against a decent Brentford team. Let’s hope for another win before most of the first choice players are probably given a breather for ten days with a few changes to the line up for the cup game

Looked to me like the ball was there to be won for Batth, wasn't even a tackle really, maybe could've stayed on his feet and not given the ref chance to make a bad decision.

Agree with your comments about Costa and Jota tam and I think there is an argument for saying Bonatini was the wrong man to take off for those reasons. When it was 10 against 11 we had no outlet with nobody holding the ball up and we were forced very much into the back foot

Another observation.
I'm not a football top wearer but I do think the away top , as worn yesterday, black with gold is the most appropriate and best we've ever had.

I clearly stated I was being harsh but just felt he made the wrong decision, either way he had a good game otherwise and the result makes it hypothetical at the end of the day. Agree with what you've put Tamworth

Doesn't really.make much difference if we appeal or not as Batth isn't a first choice starter regardless and Bennett is ahead of him in the pecking order.

Batth got the nod last night to combat the arrival threat
