Beat me to it! Lol! Thanks for clarifying that goals are separate from assists, OP!
He scored 19 goals last season which has quickly been forgotten whereas average players like Welbeck is arguable the worst finisher in the league but still a fans favourite

Welbeck is NOT a fan favourite. Where did you hear that?!
Dunno any gooners who rate Welbeck. United have sold us some proper duds, and all we've ever done is give them RVP and Sanchez.
Sad that iwobi and Welbeck aren’t out the door before him, deserved a proper run in the side to find his sharpness given how bad the afore mentiond have been. Good luck to him at Everton, perfect move for him.
Genuinely don't know what Welbeck offers our team. He doesn't create and doesn't score goals. At Walcott was a productive in that area
Iwobi has to be one of the worst players in the league. Always passes the buck. Does nothing but keeps playing. Walcott would have got you more goals than him.

When he wasn't doing his best to break his record for the number of times he could wander offside in a game...
Its unfortunate that Theo was a constant in a history where we went from a dominant team in England to a very good team that finished near the top without ever challenging. Even though before his injury Theo was progressing quite well and in fact performing on the same level as the likes of Hazard, he never got any appreciation because of how the team performed as whole. In fact he was one of our few players who turned up for the big games but when you are losing by 3 or 4 goal margin, his odd goal and assist were ignored. After his injury he scored 19 goals for us last season. But I don't think anyone can question that he is slower. He doesn't get away from the last man as he used to. So it is the right time to move on. Good luck to him.

Who cares if you wonder offside 9 times but score? You play football to get results. You can only get results by scoring or assisting. Style points don't matter a jot.
Please define "performing on the same level as Hazard". I can foresee raised eyebrows to this. Do you mean goals scored, skill, application, workrate? I would assume most people see Hazard as being a level (or two?) above Theo so to say they perform at the same level would likely be taken as delusion...
Walcott is another one of them players Wenger signed with so much talent but has stagnated in the past 5 years at Arsenal, him, Jack, Ramsey and the Ox.
Thankfully we signed the Ox who has already scored as many league goals for us as he did in any season at Arsenal and is clearly a better player under Klopp.

Certainly. 2012/13
http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Premier_League_Combined_2012-13.html
He was injured the following season.
Look at the names on that list. Only Bale outperformed him from wide. And he moved for a world record fee to Real Madrid.
That cup final when we had Walcott, Sanchez and Ozil. Wrecked them to pieces that day. Literally no idea what the likes of Welbeck and Iwobi have done to displace Theo. But what's done is done.
Its a shame that a player that gives 12 years of his career and it ends with the supporters having that opinion of him but honestly i cant blame them, he is a very average player and shouldnt of been given that length of time, after showing no improvement should of been gone after 5.
And if you think he wasn't progressing and it was a one of season, here are the stats for 2011/12 (the season before)
http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Premier_League_Combined_2011-12.html
Look at the names like Mata on the list. So really no one should deny that injury hasn't wrecked his career. Falcao had exactly the same one but it is arguable that Theo has done better to get back to salvage something. And 19 goals last season is not to be laughed at when you look at our much hyped £52m signing stuck on 8. Good luck Theo and thanks for service.
I think theo would be 2 or 3 times the player he is , if he was coached under a klopp or guardiola. Was watching the 89 dvd the other night and it showed clips from George Graham’s training sessions, a lot of off the ball work and just basic drills like shielding the ball ect that you can’t imagine Wenger doing. Everything’s ball work with him. The likes of Arshavin(best player at Euros), Reyes(best young talent ), theo, giroud(French league top scorer), all never reached or get anywhere near there goals at club level. Look at lacazette now fgs, can’t buy a goal and is confidence looks drained. Wenger is clueless. I fear for Aubameyang if he signs.
I have watched theo live for around 90% of his total appearances at home. I can honestly say the number of times he has played well I can count on one hand. He should have left the club around five years ago.

There is so much that Hazard does that isn't directly assisting or scoring that makes me ask the question. Stats show the end result but not the play that builds up to a goal or assist. That's why I question your statement "on the same level"... also, that you have to go back 6/7 years to show his peak?

I think it is not just the injuries. He hasn't been the same since he had his first boy Finley, whom according to tabloids had few complications in his early stages. Fatherhood can in some cases demotivate a player, especially if the baby has health issues.
During his time at Arsenal he was actually very productive in terms of goals. His problem was more that he’s injury prone and as soon he was playing well he’d pick up a fairly serious injury. A vicious circle in a way. Also he seems to have lost some of that blistering pace that once made him such a threat. But with a consistent run of games I think he will be a very good player for Everton.
Good luck Theo.
