Still very skeptical about the aubameyang deal. Despite Sanchez leaving I still Just couldn’t see us getting 2 big name players in one window, especially as it’s the January deal. Can see it dragging to deadline at least, then the we tried excuse.
Why would a boomerang want to leave Dortmund for Arsenal?
I agree totally with OP's article. I wrote a similar article a couple of days ago and got pelters from "so called" Arsenal fans who in their view thought it was a good deal.

Personally I'm fuming. I'd rather have taken the £20m from city and used that money to buy whom ever we wanted than strengthen, of all clubs Man Utd, and have their cast offs
If you get Aubameyang too in this window your top 4 hopes aren't over.
Great deal for us.
We would have lost Sanchez for free in the summer, and had to pay £50m minimum for a player the calibre of Mkhitaryan.
Instead we get a straight swap.
If we get the Aubameyang deal done, we've pulled a Houdini.

Arsenal pay better than Dortmund. PEA is 28-29? He'll need a contract boost and it's not like he'll be winning titles soon with BD. And none of the other top clubs want him.
City have been shafting Arsenal for years. Arsenal fans seem very eager to bend over backwards for City, yet United, who Arsenal haven't been a rival for for some years now, it gets them upset. City are here today by taking most of your best players.

Seems like Sanchez and Mkhitaryan will just be a straight swap with no extra cash involved. What happened to the £15m we were supposed to be getting?

He left when utd were good and capable of winning the league
United more capable of winning the league sooner than Arsenal currently are. Just because City are running away with it this season doesn't mean they will win it next.

Arsenal more likely to win the league with a new manager like Loew or Allegri than Utd will with Mourinho.
Sure. And I have as much chance of you being right as winning the lottery.
Mourinho's already won the lottery taking over such a gullible fanbase.
Whatever makes you feel better. If you think just a change of manager is going to change anything, you'll be sorely mistaken. Your team need practically a whole new set of defense and midfield. And we're gullible. Don't worry mate, it's all Wengers fault. No one else but Wenger. Once he's gone, players like Holding and Xhaka will be world class. It's Wenger holding them all back.

That could well happen. But to say it is a certainty makes one a fool.

A manager does make a difference. A huge difference. Where did Mourinho finish the season Renieri took over Leicester City? Or what did Conte do to team that finished mid-table with Mourinho as manager?

Actually its very very difficult to repeat in this country. To count out an Arsenal resurgence with another manager is as naive as our Man Utd fan.
Yes, manager makes a huge difference. But Pep didn't win the league in his first season despite taking over a very good side that won the league not long ago. He saw he needed players and his club went and spent a shed load in fixing their problems. So if you think just a manager will change you into a title winning side, you need wake up. The quality of players tends to help a lot. And then there is a thing such as luck and momentum. The last two league winners and the current league leaders have built that up in the seasons they won/are winning the league. Arsenal would need a hell of a lot of luck and momentum to do that. It would be like another Leicester, just not as epic.
Anyway, it's good to dream as football fans so is shouldn't really be shattering yours with a dose of reality. And I do have my own need to head to dreamland, so good night.
