Ayling could play in the premier league
Jansson could
Pablo has and would be around the squad of most lower peen clubs
Saiz could
I'm sure we've all asked ourselves that question many times since our Prem team imploded and the Bates era compounded our spiral.
It's crazy to think that our League One winning team
DID have Prem quality players in it, as proven by them signing and playing for Prem teams.
This current team? I'd echo Matty's four selects (Ayling, Jansson, Pablo, Saiz) as being able to play in the Prem. However, looking at Bartley riding the bench at Swansea, I'd say none of those four would start for any club in the Prem.
Yes, if by some miracle we went up with this team,
it would require a major overhaul of the entire team.
But, let's face it, we don't need to worry about this hypothetical this season.
We'd obviously buy better players if we went up. Plus
Siaz
Jansen
De Bock
Hernandez
Ayling
Berardi
This squad with 5 brilliant signings would stay up in the prem.
There isn't really a team who doesn't spend millions when they get promoted, promotion alone is worth HUGE money for the club, talking 100-200m.
What the feck is mousehole?
Most teams who go up need to bring in 5 or 6 decent players....look at Hudds.
If we got promoted we shouldn't be coming back down again as long as the owners were ambitious. I'd like to think AR knows what he's got on his hands should we go up.
The hardest part is getting there, I wouldn't be worried after that.
I doubt we have anyone good enough, Saiz has had a few good games but is pretty much unproven, Pontus is possible but he is slow and has a really dodgy temperament, De Bock on one performance, really?, Pablo is getting to the twilight of his career and is frequently anonymous, Ayling if rested our best player, Bera not good enough by a country mile. This team is nowhere near good enough to win promotion how, with five signings, could we hope to stay up.
Harrogate you name the six I have listed above and say we need five players. The six listed, you name four defenders and two attacking midfielders. So we need a prem level keeper, two centre backs, three or so defensive midfield and a couple of strikers. I make that eight with little in the way of back up when there are injuries and suspensions.
Or are you saying you think that Ronnie and Forshaw are good enough?
Ayling and Pontus are good enough to start at PL level. Cooper and Penners can play back-up. De Bock may be a good enough PL left back. Wiedwald is a capable backup to a PL keeper. Berardi is a capable cover at both full back positions, as is Anita.
Vieira is a good, young midfield player. Forshaw is a capable player at PL level. Okane can be a backup. Saiz can start AM. Pabs can play backup, even given his age. Alioski is a good player when he gets in the swing of it. Dallas is good enough top be backup at least. Roofe too, maybe.
I think we would need a goalkeeper, another back up CB, a backup or first choice CM, some wingers and some strikers.
Wiedweld is nowhere near capable enough to be in a premier league squad.
The days of having Mark Beeney on the bench are long gone, premiership clubs want world class goalkeepers on their bench.

What absolute nonsense. Most PL clubs either have an average foreign keeper or an average home grown keeper on the bench. Exceptions for Bravo and Romero at Man City and Man Ut, but even then, Bravo was signed as first choice. Also maybe Vorm at Tottenham, but again he's an average veteran.
Stekelenburg At Everton - experienced Dutch international
McCarthy at Southampton - keeper who loads here want to sign
Green at Huddersfield - way better than
Add to that the reserve keepers at the top 6-7 clubs
None of these players are average and all are better
Then add to that other clubs have keepers myhill and grant who who are way better than felix and have a booklet load of experience too
Swansea have a Swedish international,
Felix wouldn’t even make the bench for a premiership team, none of them would leave their faith in such a weak keeper
Green is average. So is McCarthy. Just because they'd be alright for us doesn't mean they are any better than average. Nordfeldt is crap. Stekelenburg is past his time (I thought Joel was their second choice.). Caballero is nothing special. Krul is a veteran. Darlow/Elliott are nothing special. Speroni is a veteran. Pope was a lower league keeper.

All are better than what we have though
Average? - Rob Green had a stint as England first choice
Green is an England international and was the best keeper in this league last year, only cause he is old dosent mean he had lost it.
Green was an England international many years ago. He isn't a first choice PL keeper. He is average at that level.
Green was brilliant for us last season, apart from a few bloopers.
Easy good enough this season, maybe next year will be one too far.
Good keepers are easy to find IMO, so many in the world and only one spot in each team. I wouldn't be worried about going up and staying up. We'd make 100's of millions
Being second or third choice doesn’t make you an average keeper.
It makes you a good keeper who isn’t playing because clubs in the premiership don’t want average guff on their benches they want and need better than that
