Perhaps they will sell their best attacking player again, Salah, and replace him with Johnny Evans for 90 million

But as long as they play 'beautiful' football.......

You have to accept, after they won the 'We beat Manchester City' trophy, their players are still suffering from the hangover

Jokes aside though, I said it to my Liverpool friend who did agree. They'd beat City and go on to lose games straight after.

It's a bizarre mentality the club has!

I don't think it's a mentality issue. We lost our best player and despite rivals saying we be better for it as we lost from our strongest area and gained a player in our weakest this was never gonna be the case as its the teams who defend deep and counter we struggle against.

For me there are a couple of issues that create the platform for this to happen. One chopping and changing our goalkeepers. One a good keeper who makes too many mistakes. One a crap keeper who makes too many mistakes. So we need a keeper, everybody is in agreement with that.

The second and the major one for me is that the false nine system we employ with Firmino works excellently against better teams as most of them attack us, which is perfect for a false nine as he has space when he drops in and can look up and see players advancing beyond him. This doesn't work against teams who sit back as he drops in is easily marked and the wide players are also marked if they advance beyond him and therefore the find themselves getting wider rather than being able to cut in. We are then left trying to thread the needle looking for the perfect pass and run, which is extremely difficult, more so without Coutinho. Or frustration sets in, we get everybody forward, full backs are crossing the ball into a box with two small wide players and Firmino, when he hasnt dropped off the the edge of the area, which is bread and butter for these teams. With everybody forward our defence is left exposed and we concede. Threading the needle becomes even more difficult as confidence drops and we're back to crossing the ball and being hit on the counter.

We therefore need a different type of striker. Sturridge is always injured, Ings has been out a long time before this season and the jury is still out on whether he is actually good enough anyhow and Solanke is in his first season of actually getting top level games. We don't seem to be showing any interest in Aubamuyang who seems to be available which is strange. I also think Vardy would be perfect against these teams as he would not only work hard as Firmino does but he offers a threat in behind which makes it more difficult for defenders to mark, creating space for others.

Mentality is just a cliche that is being overused. There are actual reasons why a team filled with quality players struggles against teams with lesser players and performs against teams with better ones. As I said above, the false nine system with Firmino is the main one, in my opinion. We make it easy for them to play that way and that's why these teams all come and play the same way against us. If they try that against City, they lose. If they actually attack City they may lose also but they stand a better chance as that is their weakness. Every team has a weakness, ours is too easy to exploit and we have no real options to chance it.

Who actually ran to the admins about that word? Even sadder than using it to begin with. Liverpool losing the last two games wasn't surprising as they were facing teams whose managers weren't arrogant enough to try to pass the ball out from the back when being pressed. It's that simple really. Every goal against City came from a defensive error, rather than brilliant creative football

Would actually love to know who the people are who take the time to complain about these kinds of things. Just to ask them how they manage to function in day to day life
