If I was an arsenal board member I would not be discussing anything further up field than the back four.

I wouldn't even go that far.
Aubameyang isn't a wide player and will be ruined there
I would rather get in a wide a player who will add a new dimension to our play

Personnel isn't our biggest issue at the back. Its the way we set up. Our shape os all wrong defensively and its been this way for well over a decade
If i was in charge of Arsenal.. Cech, Mertesacker, Xhaka, Ramsey, Iwobi would be out the door with Oblak, Marquinhos, N'Zonzi and Mahrez in.
£200M yes but that's money Arsenal have plus they'd definitely recoup £50M for players leaving.

I still think its our spine that needs strengthening first. Even last night I noticed a few times that Laca made a decent run only for the player with the ball not see it or decide not to play the pass. I think some were because they didnt have the ability to play a quick through ball. With better balls in Laca can flourish. However, I would still prefer Auba to Mahrez. He is one of the top CF's in the world.
A lot of who people would prefer is down to tactics. Most on here seem to want wide players playing crosses in.
I have no problem with that but in order to do so would (as I said ages ago and would still try in training to test it out and if it looks good try in a game) use 4-1-4-1. Ideally you need a DM behind the front 4 and we dont have one. A variation would be 4-1-3-2. I had said try Coq as the DM but he has gone now. I think it would have utilised his strengths and got better from him than Wenger using him as a box to box player. I would have tried Walcott on the right in a genuine wide role as well. Bellerin always looked better when he and Walcott got a partnership going up the right. Using players how you get the best out of them in a hope they can return to their best form. BUt as it is now a 4 of Mkhi, Wilshere, Ozil and Ramsey is about the best we have and they can all interchange positions.
One new player doesn't make a team; but see the difference one new Manager can make eg Swansea!

Hi everyone, don't post much here but am a long time reader. Apparently this video has since been pulled from the Arsenal site but I am more and more convinced PEA is not a Wenger signing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixcj32ImrzA
Listen to his comments (and his body language) — e.g. "...overall I believe he is welcome". Not exactly a ringing endorsement (ok, it's on the back of the Swansea debacle but still). I know the new recruitment guy Sven is ex-Dortmund.
My feeling is that Wenger doesn't want PEA and wants Giroud to stay. Guess we'll see how that all works out...
Aubameyang is a striker, he isn't great on the wing. I don't quite understand the signing.
Oh just seen that's been posted also
Defence is a shambles, keeper way past his best, but same old arsenal, we strengthen in places way too late. We needed a good keeper for 4/5 years before we brought in cech, we needed a WC striker for years before we bought Laca, we will strengthen up front and the in about 2-3 years we may start strengthening our defence
Aubameyang
Want to see us play a magic square with;
-------------------------- Cech --------------------------
-------- Koscielny (c) -- Mertesacker --------
Hecor B - M.Elneny - Wilshere - Monreal
------------------- Mkhit. - M.Ozil -------------------
---------- A.Lacazette - P.E.Aubama ----------
latest rumour is that we are looking at Manolas from AS Roma, whats with them selling everyone these days.
