Your defence is bad enough as it is. Why would you make it worse with Sideshow?

Never been used properly as a holding player.

Luiz as DMF could be interesting...I guess his salary is stumbling block.

Thinking out of the box is a difficult concept for some managers.

Giroud had two and a half years to run on his contract, so even next Summer Arsenal could have asked more than £18m.

Short term contract for Chelsea, so £18m is neither a good deal for them (especially for a club who splashed £60m on a similar player 8 months ago).

Arsenal were lucky to have Giroud as a supersub, but it couldn't last.
Strange choice for Giroud, a loan move would have been better for him. He will teach Morata how to be a target man and will be benched again.

No. 18 months. Which Chelsea have matched.

We love selling to rivals

There is little choice selling to rivals when players run down their contracts. However Giroud forced this by refusing to go to Dortmund. I am amazed he is not getting more flack. Probably will when he plays for them against us.

Giroud was surplus to requirements and we were happy to sell, not really the same thing as star players forcing a move.

Nope. Dortmund were happy to take Giroud on loan to compensate the loss of Aubameyang. However when Giroud refused the only other player they were happy with was Batshuayi. Chelsea and Giroud engineered the whole thing.

If we had refused Giroud's wishes we wouldn't have got Aubameyang. Quite simple.

Giroud’s wife loves life in London that’s all folks.

Yeah but he doesn't have to go to Dortmund if he doesn't want to, and we're not forced to sell to Chelsea. But were pushing him out the door rather than RVP, Sanchez etc forcing a move so it's different and why there is no bad feeling to him.

In fact Chelsea talked down our original asking price of £35m to £18m. And wanted to reduce it further until according to Ornstein Arsenal refused and suggested they would FORCE Giroud to go to Dortmund.

So Giroud not only Forced a move to Chelsea but also cost us £17m in the process.

Since when?

Since he signed for Chelsea and not Dortmund

Thats forcing Arsenal to do something they don't want to doesn't it?

Giroud FORCED the move to Chelsea because he and Chelsea knew that Aubameyang deal wouldn't happen without Batshuayi going to Dortmund.

And him going to Dortmund would be us forcing him to go somewhere he doesn't want to? He can refuse to sign for whoever he wants that's his right. We don't have to agree to Chelsea demands or even negotiate in the first place, could have point black refused to do business with them so he didn't force anything.

So we didn't have to sell rvp or Alexis or Ashley cole or Adebayor.

I am not sure what you talking about. Compared to all of the above Giroud has not only forced Arsenal to bend over because that was only way to buy aubameyang but also take less money than we wanted.

Nobody forced us to sell any of them, could have made RVP and Alexis sit out their last year. Ade was sold cos we wanted to get rid, Ashley we all know. it's up to us if we want to accept bids from rivals and the club has been willing to in most cases. We could have refused Giroud to Chelsea, they get another striker, Bats still goes to Dortmund and we still get PEA, in the end we seemed happy enough to give him to Chelsea.

Nope because Spurs refused an approach for Llorente who was Chelsea's second target after Dzeko. Giroud was Chelsea's only option left. And Giroud wanted to move to Chelsea as has been made clear by Giroud himself. So Giroud engineered the whole episode by refusing to go to Dortmund knowing that the only way to get auba was to sell him to Chelsea. Extremely underhanded. Its not as if Giroud is hiding it. Jen wants to stay in London. And ppl are usually behind the curve on twitter. They will realise soon enough this was beyond Arsenal's control.

Dzeko wasn't first choice he was like 10th after Carroll, Crouch, Ashley Barnes etc. why should Giroud go to Dortmund if he doesn't want to, to please the club he's leaving and the fans who he no longer plays for Giroud wouldn't have been an option for Chelsea if we dismissed it out of hand, which we obviously didn't. Chelsea were after plenty of other strikers before they went for Giroud and would have signed someone else if they couldn't get him.
