Dzeko wasn't first choice he was like 10th after Carroll, Crouch, Ashley Barnes etc. why should Giroud go to Dortmund if he doesn't want to, to please the club he's leaving and the fans who he no longer plays forGiroud wouldn't have been an option for Chelsea if we dismissed it out of hand, which we obviously didn't. Chelsea were after plenty of other strikers before they went for Giroud and would have signed someone else if they couldn't get him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you are taking Giroud's side over Arsenal. Another member of the Giroud fc fan club. Will you now start following Chelsea?
When a player is contracted to Arsenal it should be up Arsenal to choose who they wish to sell or loan the player to. That's how the transfer system works.
Arsenal had no choice in the matter because of how Giroud engineered the move. The only way to get Aubameyang was to sell Giroud to Chelsea. If Arsenal were allowed to what they wanted, Giroud would either be at Arsenal or Dortmund.
No the transfer system works with all 3 parties agreeing to a deal. Your irrational hatred of Giroud is causing you to chat even more garbage than usual.
I have never hated Giroud or I wouldn't have suggested he would be good enough to play in a slower league at the very top level like PSG years ago.
Players who refuse transfers against the wishes of their clubs don't last in the game. Clubs don't need permission from players to sell their contracts. We have just signed Mikhi who didn't want to move to Arsenal. Doesn't mean he will be any less professional at Arsenal.
Arsenal will get the blame for selling to a rival and the usual suspects are already claiming that Giroud moved up to sign for Chelsea, inc Henry. I don't absolve Arsenal or Wenger for sometimes taking the wrong choice in their transfer dealings. But this is down to Giroud and you have to be fanboy not to see it.
Thanks for the memories Oli - very sad to see Giroud go, but understand it completely. He really has been a fantastic servant. He is an excellent footballer, just has the misfortune of being naturally very slow. But he provided us with countless goals, assists, and always had good link-up play and work rate. Some pretty special moments in there too. Just glad he managed to help is win a few trophies. Deserves a good reception when he comes back.

Gutted he's gone, he scored and was a part of some fantastic goals for the club.
People are actually sad about this? Strange.
Giroud served his purpose. We had no need for him whatsoever.

with only welbeck and Lacazette to rely on in the EL, I think he was a lot more use than you think
