It is far too early to judge the new additions. They’ll need time to get going. The worry is that they drop further down the league and get themselves in a situation they really don’t want to be in.

Karanka really needs to have a word with Pantilimon trying to punch a shot away from goal. That was embarrass. He would have been better off putting his hands down and letting the ball hit him in the face!

*embarassing.

Pleased with the performance. A good response from Preston.

Pep and Colback will be very solid in a few games time. Pep looked surprisingly fit and never stopped. Colback's out of contract in 2019. Definitely sign him up if he plays like that.

Not sure on Pants. It was harsh on Smith. Degajah and Tomlinson provably need time to get fit.

I'd expect Figure and Lolly to come in and do well, based on the above.

A positive start for the revised team and I think we'll start picking up points with an easier run on paper, coming up.

Karanka was quite bullish afterwards. I guess he has no choice now. Warburton has let the cat out of the bag with his comments about the goalposts changing. The owners want a tilt at the top six so the heat is on.

Realistically we'd have to win 14 of the last 16 games. Which would surely be the best run in our history. 14 wins puts us on 77 points and even then it's not guaranteed. I just can't see it, we just haven't got the goals in the team.

Being the most optimistic I can:

Hull (H) - 22nd - W
Burton (A) -24th - W
Reading (H) - 18th - W
QPR (A) - 15th - W
Brum (H) - 19th - W
Norwich (A) - 13th - L
Derby (H) - 2nd - W
S Utd (A) - 8th - D
Millwall (A) - 14th - D
Barnsley (H) - 21st - W
Boro (A) - 9th - W
Bford (H) - 11th - W
Ipswich (H) - 12th - W
Cardiff (A) - 4th - L
B City (H) - 6th - W
Bolton (A) - 20th - W = 38 points / 73 in total.

The two losses? We never seem to win at Norwich, Warnock always beats us.

How many wins and then a win against Derby and then Boro? First off it's a Derby, second it's against AK's old club. A chance in both I feel.

The two draws? After the two away losses above then Millwall and Sheffield United seem the most likely Away games where we will struggle.

I know these aren't your thoughts Will, re top 6. Just passing on what the owners think, but still, I think they've watched I Believe in Miracles too many times for their own good.

Get in Colback and a few more in the summer and I think were a strong shout for top six next season. This season, a solid run and confidence into pre-season will have to do.

Agreed. They’ve sent mixed messages to the supporters. It’ll be used as a stick to best them with.

Stephen Henderson has popped his thigh on his Pompey debut. The unluckiest footballer of recent times?

This post for some reason jogged my memory about filtering a certain poster. As I now tend to write the match thread, I've unfiltered you Blackstarr.

I’d he proves himself over the next few months there might be a deal to be had. He has already burned his bridges with the Geordies. Not so hard for a Mackem to do, granted.

Can’t see your point, any winning score in a league match gets you 3 points, if you are saying you should have scored more, then I agree, but very few games end up with a 100% goals/strike record, and realistically we should have scored at least one, but as usual didn’t

Your page seems to suggest your a Leicester City fan? Not sure how 3 more points really affects us as we are in different leagues?

Did you watch the full game at Fulham, watched it on I-Follow or one one of the many Twitter streams. Either way, thanks for the support,

Cheers

Bless them. Still feeling all by themselves down the A46?

We should have had a free kick on the edge of the box, that was a very poor decision by the Referee.

I feel sorry for Jordan Smith, his replacement didn't have a perfect game after all?

Watson’s finally been announced ✅

2 and half year deal

Top signing. Some real competition in there now. Hopefully they’ll get a deal done for Garrido as he could push Fox for the LB spot.

Ben Watson on a 2 and half year deal is excellent business, real statement of intent, and better still doesn’t count as a loan signing. We will certainly have some leadership and battling qualities in midfield, certainly won’t be the push over we have been. Well done AK must have really sold his vision.👍
