Robb Conte won away at Bernabau 3-1 and the games don't get any harder and bigger than that.

I'm not belittling Klopp in the slightest. I think he is a very good attacking manager
I just rate Pochettino higher

And fair enough manc, i just disagree with the espanyol vs Dortmund thing. And i think the Liverpool side Klopp took over was pretty rubbish myself.

Poch is excellent though, needs a trophy soon though for me.

They both do

Agreed. Only thing in Klopps favour is he has won trophies, Poch is yet to do so. And i realise because of the teams he’s been at he can really only do so at spurs but he does need something.

I just remembered it was the reverse fixture vs Watford when Robb made that article against us that massively backfired, to which we won that game then spanked United weeks later. He never learns

Robb that proves that Pochettino can do a good job as Tottenham manager in big away games in cup competitions like he did v Real Madrid.

I think he was more confused because you said Conte won 3-1

Sorry Robb I meant overall as a cup manager in Champions League as he drew with Real 1-1 and beat them 3-1 at home at Wembley Stadium.

I think Giroud is a good signing. A few their others less so.

What are your views on how your club treated Mahrez and Leicester?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry, only just saw this question. In what way?

By committing the heinous crime of pulling out of a transfer deal.

Pretty sure we didn’t even try and enter, we enquired and Leicester priced the deal too high. We didn’t do anything wrong and Leicester were well within their rights to price it the way they did (although if they had given Mahrez assurances he could go, then it is risky by them).

My wife’s family are all Leicester fans. They’re all split on it.

I don’t see what city did wrong. There’s nothing wrong with moving for a player in the last couple days of a transfer window. It didn’t come off as Leicester wanted a huge fee, something they’re entitled to do. City weren’t willing to go that high and as such it didn’t materialise. If the player wants to have a tanty and down tools now then that’s all on him not Leicester or City

posted on 2/2/18

A lot of Leicester fans are unhappy that he was hung out to dry by City - he was obviously encouraged to hand in a request but City tried to do it far too late. Why not do it earlier than a day to go?

posted on 2/2/18

Why does it matter? The window is open for a set amount of time, that means you have until jan 1st to conclude your dealings, if you want to do it all on the final day you can.

City did nothing wrong, didn’t tap him up or anything. The move didn’t materialise, it happens.

They unsettled a player with no time for Leicester to find a replacement. They had the whole window to try to sign him and left it to the final day and then pulled out of a deal when he had handed in a transfer request.

United left it to the final day to sign Ander Herrera and failed, this unsettling him by your logic.

Didn’t hear you bleating about it then.

So what
All teams do it
We bought Fellaini and Berbatov on the last day of the window

Don’t forget united not moving for Ruud Van Nistelroy until he had landed at the airport in the UK after Middlesbrough had spent weeks negotiating a deal with his club and him, and united walked him out the airport straight past the Middlesbrough delegation.

That’s a thousand times worse if you want to start having a whinge about any tiny thing in the game.

I’m not saying we’re innocent. But a lot of Leicester fans are annoyed at City for doing this and then backing out

posted on 2/2/18

But Leicester priced Mahrez at 95 million pounds. That’s absurd, city weren’t obligated to take him at that price.

Maybe they moved for him so late because of Sanes injury? It really doesn’t matter imo, there’s no difference between chasing a player all summer unsettling his pre season and early season and then not getting him than there is chasing him on the last day.

If Mahrez is throwing a wobbly he’s only doing himself more harm in wanting a big move as big clubs won’t appreciate his sulky attitude.

posted on 2/2/18

Mahrez is no worse a player than Coutinho imo (or at least, if he is, he’s not loads worse) and has better stats. If Leicester see Couts go for huge money (and players like VVD go for £75 million) Leicester are allowed to quote that kind of fee - especially when they are given hours to find a replacement.

I rate Poch and am not oblivious to Klopps issues.

However the Dortmund vs espanyol thing doesn’t wash for me, when Klopp took over Dortmund they were at more or less the same standing as espanyol, constantly finishing mid tabke.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That's an extremely wayward comparison.

BvB may have fallen on hard times when Klopp took over, but they were still a massive club, one of the most decorated in German football, former European Cup and Cup Winners' Cup Champions, one of the largest stadiums in Europe...

Poch was taking up his first job at the perennial ugly duckling in Barcelona, saddled with debt, most of his squad made up of academy players, and with the team in the relegation zone. He pulled them out of relegation and steered them to 10th via a miraculous victory at the Camp Nou against the almighty, all-conquering Pep Team - the club's first win there in 27 years.

The achievement were of a totally different scale, obviously, but it's hugely misleading to suggest that their respective clubs' standing was similar.

No they aren’t, they’re annoyed at either Mahrez for his actions since or Leicester themselves for not honouring their apparent assurances to him about allowing him to leave.

We are entitled to bid anytime in the window (we didn’t actually bid at all though). Mahrez has been unsettled for two years, Leicester chose to put a value on him that was too high, they could have just said he’s not for sale.

What’s been said in Leicester is that our interest has been about all month btw too.
