“No matter how good a player we sign, we just won't be able to cut it unfortunately.
With Wenger at the helm we're going to continue being also rans.”

Been saying this for years. It really doesn’t matter if we signed Messi and Ronaldo we still wouldn’t win anything significant with Wenger here.

As a neutral it seems Wenger spends more time moaning than coaching?

No doubt he was a superb manager, the invincibles were magnificent but the last 5-7 seasons seem to have been blighted by poor signings and strange strategy? Only imo to be fair though👍

Wenger has been finished for some years. A blind man can see that.

Surprisingly, Bellerin actually did alright I felt.

I was patient with Xhaka last season, but I really don't see any real value to him being on the pitch. His best asset is his passing and he messed up two simple passes to put people in on goal.

He does seem unsackable to be fair? No doubt any of the other top 6 would have let him go?

Loyalty is in short supply in the EPL and its an admirable quality but when is enough, enough?

And we had a clear plan in the first half, just had a really poor final ball on the counter.

Second half was atrocious, all discipline lost.

posted on 10/2/18

What was our plan? Sit back, not use our outlet in Auba and give the ball away to Spurs?

Also More often then not we have no game plan if a team has stopped our passing play. You see it a lot, basically as soon as we get pressed a lot it’s almost game over for us. Other managers would have a different plan, and change it up with a shift in tactics or the right sub. Too often we just let games get away from us and don’t do anything to turn the tide.

It’s clear top 4 is done now. League is almost pointless for us. We really have to win Europa. Then hopefully Wenger can leave and a new guy can sort out the midfield and defence. A bit of organisation and the right additions, with the attack we have, it shouldn’t be too much of an hard task to get us top 4 finishers next year. Then hopefully build from there. We could stop a big amount of goals we concede with just a decent defensive game plan

Mike Wenger trying to do a Man Utd this season lol.

The discipline was all gone as soon as Spurs scored. The team knew it was fecked from then on. There's no point in throwing on strikers either when there's zero creativity. So much is wrong with the way Arsenal play, but with right coaching it can all be put to right. Quite clear player have no direction to play in.

In peace

I can see your frustration but to be fair to Wenger he does always try to play decent football.

Maybe a change is on the cards but there are so few really great managers around who do you think will be any better than what you already have?

Wenger is staying and will probably sign a contract extension mate.

To be honest mate I think he will go at the end of this season unless he wins the Europa

Everybody is getting a bit carried away tbh.
Spurs payed very well in all areas of the pitch and we matched them and held strong in the first half.

We fell apart when Kane scored and lost all discipline defensively. Omg Kane can get up high can’t he?
Wilshere got a couple of nice balls through and Auba latched onto one only to be judged offside (looked onside to me but never mind).

If we had the same Miki who played last week we would have had more of a chance but for some reason he was off today.

We turned over possession too easily in the second half but we still could have got a result if Lakazete had some confidence, he will get it back and Miki will have a good game again.

The positive is that in the first half we defended well and you can see that they have been working on it. I will give it another couple of games before I start throwing my toys out of the pram like most of you lot on here.

No leadership on the field or sidelines. No team energy or sense of urgency. Even as time was running short, Arsenal was still passing the ball back to their own goalkeeper. Iwobi does not belong in the PL. Whoever scouted him for Arsenal overlooked his inability to pass to his own team mates!

"Embarrassing" is a mild way of putting it!

Not quite that bad

We went on something like a 20 game unbeaten run (loads of draws though) and stayed 6th the whole time

Wenger does always honour his contracts but if he doesn't get champions league football, I think there is a good chance he will be gone

Wenger will probably win the Europa and get a 3 year deal. He’s Jammy like that. Like when we won the fa cup and saved his job.

Winning Europa would be a good season.
If Wenger wins another trophy this season what more could you want. The guy is still winning trophies for arsenal and taking Arsenal to cup finals. I feel sorry for Wenger I hope he retires on a high even thou Im Spurs fan...
