If the way we've been playing over the last 6 weeks isn't a worry or a concern (we were not very impressive against Birmingham or Brentford despite the result), then the way other teams are playing IS a concern.
Cardiff are playing full of confidence, as are Aston Villa. We are not.
Virtually every team that has come to Derby this season with the exception of Hull are quicker than Derby, close players down quicker than Derby, stronger than Derby and more exciting to watch than Derby.
Said it before, but if we're playing such good stuff, where have 4-5k supporters gone to? On holiday.? Or just find the whole matchday experience and boring old chore perhaps.?
I can't speak for 5 thousand people, but I know that, personally, I am unprepared to spend my time & increasingly 'hard-earned', in a toxic atmosphere, where many people spend the whole game criticising, moaning and not getting behind their team, due to their unrealistic expectations of a season, which was originally considered to be one of transition.
I don't believe anyone has said that Derby have been playing such good stuff, AJ. It has certainly been effective stuff though. If every other team is quicker, stronger and more exciting than us then we have done very well to be above almost all of them. I'm sure the style of play does have a lot to do with the drop in attendances. Rowett is a pragmatist and would prefer to be above all of the other exciting teams that win fewer matches than we do. Playing the beautiful game did not get us promoted and brought plenty of sloppily-conceded goals that lost matches.
You tell 'em Ang
I'm still hoping to go to QPR if you fancy an "away-day"?
Ang knows. People's sense of entitlement is astonishing. We have to play fantastic football all of the time and we have to win all of the time or else we will slate the team and the players. Anything less than absolute perfection is completely unacceptable.

We can't expect Derby to come-up to 666's level anytime soon Vidal.
Thanks for the summation Sheepy - that's calmed my nerves a bit.
Thanks Sheepy. You have confirmed what I hoped would be be the case. i.e. Nothing went right for us whilst two very good goals went right for Wednesday. It sometimes happens in sport. We'll get over it. And if we don't we will next year still enjoy our Championship games more than we would - losing everywhere in the PL.

Can't speak for 5,000 people? Just what sort of minor job do you have?
'Can't speak for 5,000 people? Just what sort of minor job do you have?'
Being spokesperson for your sheep doesn't really count !
Sheep! This isn't New Zealand. But I do have the respect of a lot of salmon......
Apparently not. I was being lulled into a false sense of security. Bloody fish, can't trust them at all
I have been a season ticket holder for 34 years. I am entitled to cast a critical view over what I am watching. I'm sorry, but I can't be enthusiastic about mediocre players such as the ineffective George Thorne and the grossly overrated and lazy Tom Lawrence. We're not going up. Simple as that. Not good enough. And if we are, it will only to be the laughing stock of the Premier league once again.
AJ this deserves a proper response from a fan/attendee/ST holder, and not the wildlife correspondent. Can only assume they are all doing Valentines things......All about priorities really
Ooh AJ, you tease! First we are definitely not going up, simple as, then you tantalise us with “if we are....”.
I feel for you. Your jubilation at last night’s defeat must have been tempered by the absence from the lineup of your two favourite scapegoats. Must be awful not to be able to blame it on those two disgraces to football. Oh well.
Of the only two possible options, for there can be no others, which would give you greater happiness? Failing to get promoted or being a laughing stock next season?
I wish I had your easy cynicism and scathing condemnation. Although I have fifteen more years on you as a season-ticket holder (thanks for telling us your impressive credentials by the way) I have yet to get beyond simple support of my team, gratitude for the small crumbs of comfort and joy that occasional successes can bring, and hope that deficiencies might improve. I guess compared to you I’m just a fool. I hope I never get wise as you though.
Vidal, I'm not going to blow smoke up the a as of payers who are not good enough. Similarly I can't be over critical of players who have been lobbed into an inadequate mix and have not played 1st team football in 3months. Stop trying to be smart and sarcastic, you sound like a student. This isn't an I'm bigger than you measuring contest, I am genuinely concerned about the ordinary performances of a football club that I love with all my heart.
I suspect you’ve both renewed for next season so regardless you’ll be there moaning or happy clapping as is you’re right.
We have previous in chucking it away and it’s easy to get frustrated at unexpected results because it normally foretells a collapse.
We have been saying that we’ve drawn games we should have lost and that we believe the soft underbelly tag has been removed.
But it’s February we drew a game we should have lost against Norwich and lost a game we expected to win against Wednesday.
I have no idea what to expect against Leeds
Relax guys. Whatever will be will be. Our players will do their best to get up there. So will the players in other teams surrounding our campaign. If we win - truly great - if we lose - well at least we tried. I can never say our players don't really try though I can think of a few who perhaps sometimes do not give of their all. But, no more than many others playing against us.
Mostly, reasons for losing (or not winning) are tactical or referee errors or failures of selection by GR. It will all pan out in the end.
And if you believe that, you'll believe anything. But what is indisputable is that however much we, as individual fans, fret and worry, we can't do any other than accept the outcome. COYR's don't let go.
The Championship is full of players of a similar level/attitude with the occasional better standard 'on their day' type player. They perform at a 6-8 player rating but rarely a 10. Consistent 8-10's are in the Prem or at Championship clubs who paid a fortune for them.We don't have those resources so it's up to the manager to get them sorted as a unit. Rowett has gone for strength at the back and midfield and speed going forward. Sadly the only one who can control at speed is Vydra, Lawrence on his day, so our attacks are well meant but usually doomed to failure. We must never give up on that though. Passion and desire have to be a given if we are go up in the top 2. I don't think we have enough of it or of the quality players to do that, I can see Villa and Wolves going away from us now with us in the lottery at the end of the season. We are not much better or worse than the playoff teams so anything could happen.
Enjoy the ride. Moan and cheer as you wish.
Good posts folks. I am frustrated.
I agree Iwas. Villa & Wolves auto. Cardiff are getting stronger. It is belief you need at this stage of the season and Cardiff have it in buckets.
If it's the playoffs, Fulham would be the team I'd fear over two legs.
Do we, as a board, have the mental toughness to leave 600 hanging.
We shall see.
