It is relative.

We have been playing catch-up since our upturn in the early 2000s.

When we were qualifying for Europe in the league for the very first time, we were already miles behind United, Arsenal had just built a 60k stadium on the back of Wenger's early success, Liverpool were still an established side financially, Chelsea had already built up several years of debt to build their club.

By the time we got our act together properly to be a consistent CL challenger, City had their owners.

We have had to build the club, pay what we can afford, all the while saving for a stadium of our own.

Over the years we have had to sacrifice cups at the expense of league campaigns, or vice versa. All the while fending off the vultures wanting to pinch our top players.

Right now, we have got ourselves in to a position where we can challenge properly on a few fronts, only sacrificing the minor cup - the Carabao.

I am more than happy with where we are - the stadium is here in 6 months time, and there is a quality squad in place.

It begins now

As far as I know there are 3 months left of this season, Mr Keane.

We are a lower league side away from a quarter final of the FA cup, with a potential semi and final at a place we have really made home.

We have also just had one of the most dominant away performances I have seen from Spurs in any competition, coming back from 2-0 down early in Turin (something he knows a bit about) and are probably now favourites to progress.

This comes off the back of easily beating United and Arsenal, and making 'Kings of the Big Games' Liverpool look like Burnely in the 2nd half at their own patch, with lots of players coming back at the business end.

We are alright fella, worry about the shower you coach

10 years without a trophy for us is embarrassing though. I’m sure many of our fans used to rip arsenal for them going 9 years without one?

We can’t have it both ways, I say he’s right.

its a disgrace tbh.. especially if you think about the quality of sides we have had in that time...

we used to pick up the odd trophy when our squad was littered with dross

we will be picking up the fa cup and the champs league this season anyway so its all good

For the majority of that 10 year period we’ve been a top 6 team, and it’s not as though there’s been a real dominant force in that time like there has been in Spain, Italy or Germany in that time with Barca, Juve and Bayern winning doubles every year and therefore nothing being available for anyone else.

Fans of Spurs that are not bothered about trophies are talking s***. I'm sorry but if this club go another few years of not winning anything, the likelihood of our top players like Kane etc leaving will be high, meaning we will have no good team to enjoy. We need to start winning stuff and I think it's about time we do. We have built up an excellent young side capable of it and I think it would be a travesty if this Spurs side didn't win anything. Unfortunately our best chance of a title was the leicester season and I don't think we are going to get a chance like that again, especially with Manchester City's dominance now.
