As a Barnet FC fan, I've been accustomed to never winning anything.

But this book is marvellous, this book performs a miracle but making it "cool" to not win anything.

Liverpool didn't win anything despite spending £154 million on transfers across the past 3 seasons (according to transferleague.co.uk)....
But this book portrays them as a team of "dreamers" who went so close.

I love it, it gives me hope that one day Barnet can spend over a hundred and fifty million pounds and still not win anything.

I didn’t say ‘giving it large about’, I said ‘giving it large when’

Who would of thought at the start of the season that Liverpool would be staking a claim to their god given rightful place at the top of the league? This is a book that re-lives that rollercoaster of a journey from August to May when Brendan not just gave Liverpool Football Club fans some hope, he gave football fans the world over a chance to dream.
To dream of reaching the top with a team assembled for over 100 million peanuts, a team of false nine’s, inside left backs and a midfield so innovatively inverted it ended up on its Ba’ckside.
You can almost hear the Kop roaring you on from page to page as you become as one with the kop, you are Stevie G, you are Luis for 245 pages, at the end of the book I was exhausted with the journey I had just experienced, was it real, was it a dream? I felt so exhausted that I slipped over and bit my wife on the arm which she wasn’t best pleased with, so only 4 stars.
The kick and rush Liverpool Football Club philosophy is re-lived in these pages once again as the words dive out at you from the pages, much like the redmen last season this really is a book that makes you slip effortlessly into the dream.
Great delivery from amazon, arrived in one of Brendan’s envelopes, which I thought was a nice touch.
