As long as we win.... π
Anyone seen the rumour that Arjen Robben is signing for Town in the summer? Apparently same agent as VLP, also a big friend of VLP too.
Where did that rumour come from? Here!

Peacehead Merson has predicted a loss for Town. Some things don’t change.

There's a whole thread on it's own merit in this,

The cops demanding more money from the clubs,
And no doubt, The clubs saying 'public order' is hardly their responsibility.
My immediate take on it.
The cops are usually seen doing not much at all, stood by the corner flags watching the games, while they leave the work they are supposed to be doing to Stewards, Who are employed by the clubs on health safety grounds, So the club have to, by law, pay for two lots of 'security' while it would appear only one or the other option is needed.
As always, it’s about money! The police don't want to do it because they can only recover a third back of their costs. The government will always cut back public services.
I wonder how many of those increased pitch invasions are down to juveniles and irresponsible parents!
The solution is to get rid of the stewards and put the money towards more police. However, how many police is enough? Less people are joining the police force and the governments are quite happy having a reduction in the figures.
So, possibly no solution?
The cops have a bee in their bonnet over the Hillsborough thing.
because blame has been attributed to them in a sense, are they sulking and just going through the motions, Being obliged to 'be there'.
it was openly discussed on DATM last week re- the Man U fans mixed in among the Kilner bankers,
With sporadic problems as a result, and it would seem from eye witness accounts the police (as ever) did nothing or at best an absolute bare minimum in dealing with the problems, leaving it up to stewards.
Like I said, it's evident watching nigh on all games on TV that the Police in the main cluster in the corners doing very little if anything at all during games.
They are stealing wages/costs under false pretenses in my opinion.
This 'cost' aspect to the clubs is hidious. They are employed to keep law order where ever that me be a requirement...
A bit like the navy saying it costs 'x' amount extra to send an Aircraft carrier to some location or other ?
The vessle, crew running costs are ongoing whether paroling the local waters or going further into other oceans. It doesn't wash.
It’s politics isn’t it?
Interesting read on Flo, I saw on DATM.

Good read LV.
the side panel proposed team selections,
Lossl,
Hadergjonaj, Schindler, Jorgensen, Kongolo.
Billing , Hogg, Pritchard.
Ince , Mounie, VL Parra.
I'd swap Billing for Williams.
Quaner for Ince.
Move Ince over to take VLP's place.
Pitchard, Ince Mounie in a triangle up front on the left would work well I'd say.
Mounie would get more of the ball to feet & head with those two supplying than Van man Cul-de-sac Parra.
On the other right side,
Haderg's, Williams and Quaner would undoubtedly cause some damage.
Billing needs too much 'time' and would be too casual for this game. Because it will get feisty no doubt about it.
Interesting comment about Pardew getting the sack if we beat them .
No way Billing should be anywhere this match! The gormless lanky numpty was at joint fault for Man Utd’s second goal in the FA Cup encounter. He offers beggar all in his play. Trots around aimlessly, scratching his head with his daft hairdo, wondering what to do?
I’d have VLP on the bench too. Ince has more skill and more intelligence than the Very Loose Passer. Although, Ince for me is exceedingly close to last chance saloon. He has to be more composed in front of goal, he seems to panic and rush his efforts.
Hogg and Williams definitely in the middle for me. Also, young Pritchard shone against the Cherries, I expect him to start and to continue where he left off!
I’d actually start Depoitre, this is more a match for him than Mounié. Laurent will handle the WBA defenders better I feel, as they will no doubt be very physical.
Must be a back three today, as I doubt WBA will have too much desire going forward. So, Kongolo, Schindler and Flo.
A swift attacking start from Town should stand us in good stead for the game. An early goal will certainly place the cat amongst the pigeons!
UTT! Looking forward to the kick off!
Agreed chaps, Williams in for Billing... Big one this... UTT
Really don't know what's gonna happen today. It'll either be 1-3 or a 2-0 home win.
2737 going today.... Agree with Hydy either a tame 2-0 loss or a fantastic 3-1 win.
I'm wearing my town boxers today.... They have a LLLWL ratio
Good call LV...
Depoitre is, would be the better option today,
He's far stronger holding the ball up with his back to goal, But horses fr courses
Mounie does have that bit extra 'explosive' burst going forward for a loose ball.
All down to how Pardew sets up their defensive mindset. And how we respond.
Hydy, I hope your bowels don’t reflect those losses. Especially in your lucky, or not so lucky underwear!

Just bumped in to some Blackburn fans at Sandbach services, one asked where we are today so I told him. His mate, only half jokingly, said he hopes the stadium collapses on us. I think they’re bitterπ
Lets face it UTG, those poor Blackburn fans have nothing to look forward to!
