SA vs OZ test series

Also I think of all the players from the current batch, Steve smith is probably the only player who has had success in most conditions. Obviously his average is inflated a lot because he plays most games on roads of Australia, but can’t say he is a home track bully.

I see the aussie coach is whinging about the SA crowd. He needs to closer to home. When teams go to Australia its not a picnic. The way they treated Murali was a disgrace.you can question his action but the abuse he got was horrendous.
Aussies play the big guys when they win and whine when they lose.

Amazing to see how Aussies can’t even score 300 when they don’t get flat highways. If SA can with this match it will be a big achievement given they have not won a series at home against Australia since their readmission

Bancroft caught red handed. Aussies and cheating is becoming quite synonymous. Atleast this time smith and his team can’t say it was a brain fade. Should get a test ban as a minimum.

Disgraceful from the Ozzies. Would be interesting to hear what Lehman has to say about that

Now we know why they get reverse swing when tge opposition doesn't.

Bancroft will be the fall guy for this but the whole team is culpable.... Steve Smith should receive the same ban as Bancroft does.

Cheating gits.

Both teams are known ball tampering cheats. I remember when Anderson got his nails in against Pakistan a few years back.

Aussies are officially a joke. Smith was on the verge of becoming an Aussie test legend given his recent performances, instead he’a led his team to bringing the game into disrepute... pure hypocrisy from the Aussies. Constantly moaning and whinging at others....

Fascinating to see how the ICC responds to this now... I know how they’d response if it were a few other teams with a slightly darker skin to the Aussies.

Smith and the so called leadership team needs to be handed a ban by icc. Nothing less than this is justifiable. Will be interesting to see how cricket Australia who always talk about integrity and bla bla, react to this. Feel sorry for Bancroft. He looked like he would go in tears when the media kept on questioning him.

This is mad. Just read the quotes. Steve Smith said something along the lines of.. "we accept full responsibility, it only happened once, it won't happen again". Hold on you little facker. You can't just put out a poxy statement and expect to move on from it. Hopefully Cricket Australia and the ICC come down on them like a ton of bricks including fines and suspensions but I won't hold my breath.

That cheating pigfaced scrote should be sacked... this incident will tarnish Aussie cricket for many years to come.

We all know what the Aussies are about. Dish it out, give craaaap to the opposition and use as much gamesmanship as they can but anything against them and they throw a huge hissy fit. Absolutely disgraceful and I’m actually in shock at what Smith in todays presser. Effectively admitting the cheating was pre-planned. Farcical. Should both be banned for a very long time.

This "leadership group" should all get a ban.

Sounds pretty serious.

I'd ban as many of them as aren implicated for as long as possible. Smith should be banned for at least 12 months from all cricket. So should Lehmann.

In previous instances of ball tampering you have always had less evidence and players not accepting that they were intending to change the conditions of the ball. Here you have got plenty of video evidence and top it off, the captain and the culprit accepting it in front of the media and saying they had pre planned to cheat.

Interestingly they are saying Lehman had no knowledge of it but that’s bollkkks, he was shown clearly on walkie talkie to 12th man before he went out and passed message on. Great camera work - from Lehmann to Handscomb to Bancroft. Pretty clear what happened there.

Not condoning this at all. I would however like to point out that faf has been convicted of ball tampering twice and philander once and neither received a ban.

posted on 24/3/18

Compared to the Faf saga, this is a monster. Faf used saliva, Australia used sandpaper and substitutes and have acknowledged it was intentionally planned by the captain and leadership. Faf was given 3 demerit points and charged entire match fee. Think this is different

posted on 24/3/18

What about when he was scratching the ball with his zip?

posted on 24/3/18

Faf was guilty of the zip incident, the mint one was ridiculous. There's never been a blatant case like the one we witnessed today.

What do you think should be consequence then Duncan, given how the Aussies champion themselves on letter of the law and best practice on and off the field?

posted on 24/3/18

Am sure all teams somehow try to alter the condition of the ball. Bancroft just got caught..Dunno what the hell he was using though.
