Not sure what kind of "statistics" you need. Among the countries you'd consider the major powers in the game, England have by far the most hapless record on the international stage. 1 semi-final in the World Cup since '66 says it all. Euros record is even weirdly more abysmal. 1 semi-final in the history of the competition, several times failing to qualify and frequently out in the group stages when they do.

I would say Quarter Finals is the level of expectation that should be put on England in a World Cup, and I would fancy England to make it this year.

This. Barely a chance we could win it but if we play well and reach the quarters, that's something. The draw has been fairly kind, so why not?
