Playstation is really looking to blow Xbox away this year.
My son wanted an Xbox one rather than PS4 , little shat is always asking to play my PS4.
Do people actually still play Xbox anymore?
Why do people get so obsessed about games being exclusive? Who cares if they're on different consoles
Well I know an xbox owner who cares enough and is buying a PS4 to play Spiderman.
I know people who cared enough and bought a PS to play TLOU and Uncharted.
Without exclusives you want to play there would be little reason to buy a certain console and it is lack of exclusives among other things that is killing the xbox.
The reason i changed from xbox 360 to ps4 was to play the likes of uncharted and the last of us which were brilliant games. Definitely glad i made the switch!

Weird comment unless you assume everybody owns both consoles or one comes free with the other.
My only reason for choosing the xbox was my mates have them and I prefer the controller. That's as deep as it goes

I know so many people who have done exactly the same and feel exactly the same about doing it.
MS dropped the ball big time this gen.
Aye i switched to ps4 for last of us, uncharted and that other one..... ?
infamous!
To be honest my point wasn't why people choose a console, it was more why do people get angry say if a game was 'exclusive' to one console but then gets released on another later on
Well Sony rarely do timed exclusives, Games like Tomb Raider which MS bought as a timed exclusive angered a lot of people because it started life on Playstation, and was being held back.
Games such as Titanfall, MS don't own the rights too, so was a limited exclusive, Titanfall 2 was always coming to Playstation.
Then you have Sony, who's exclusives are just that, they not only have an outstanding team of developers with some of the best developers, they also own the rights to the IP's.
Games like TLOU, Spiderman, etc will never make it to another platform, the only place to play is Playstation.
Weren't the other spiderman games on all consoles though?
What makes "Spider-Man" any different?
And why is it called Spider-Man, is it a reboot of something or what?
There are all sorts of Spiderman games, made by numerous studios over the years, It's never really had a platform per se.
Tomb Raider was a timed exclusive MS bought the rights to for a year, as an answer to Uncharted and to stop Playstation owners having it for that time.
The difference with Spiderman its development is being funded by Sony, I doubt Sony can own the IP, but they certainly own this game.
It is being developed by Insomniac a quality third part studio, and to all intents and purposes can be considered a new game.
It's called Spiderman because it is based on that character.
Well as none of the previous have been any good, I don't see this as such a big deal either way. I own both consoles.
Not to you maybe RtM, but to many it is a huge deal.
And to many it isn't. Is this a glass half full/empty thing?
There is no point arguing with you RtM, Spiderman is a system seller, which is the whole point of exclusives.
It's called Spiderman because it is based on that character.

The question was aimed at an explanation to if its a reboot of something or if its just a brand new game, new villains and not based on anything in the movies or a sequel to anything previously?
