If it was a one off game, we’d stand a pretty good chance but over two legs in an attacking tie, I feel their quality over us will shine through. I really can’t see us not conceding at both Anfield or the Etihad tbh. As long as we give it a go I won’t be disappointed. However should we pull off a victory over two legs it wouldn’t be the biggest shock either. However to deny we are underdogs is foolish.

We know we can beat them and we have beaten them this season. So while they are favourites, it certainly wouldn't be a shock if we were to pull it off.

At our best, we are as good as City.
———
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t think that’s even a controversial comment.
City play at a high level more consistently. Liverpool are more prone to errors. That’s why they’re a better side. However, at their best I don’t think there’s much between the teams.
That’s why City will rightly be favourites but not overwhelmingly so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There really is much between the teams. They are strong in all areas. Liverpool are strong in attack
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In which case there’s no excuse for them not to win then I guess.
Look, I’m not expecting Liverpool to win the tie. Over 180 mins I would expect City to play at a high level for a greater period of time. I’m just saying that Liverpool are very capable of matching them or bettering them for periods of the tie. If we score when we’re on top then who knows.
There is no excuse if City don’t go through m
They will rightly be disappointed to be having the season they’re having and be knocked out of Europe to a lesser side
That’s genuinely not meant as a wum against Liverpool. Just more to reflect the reality of the situation. Liverpool are underdogs. Nothing more, nothing less
We are underdogs, I don't think anyone will disagree with that. I'm just saying it won't be a shock if we go through. We are quite well set up to play against City.
Well, I’m just looking forward to a couple of good games. Hopefully 4/5 goals in each game!
Indeed. That wouldn't surprise me at all.
It will probably be two boring 0-0s now and go to penalties
Now THAT would be shocking π
Doesn't a lot of expected goal fest's actually end up low scoring affairs?
One of which actually being the Liverpool City game at Anfield last season. The way both were defending at the time a tennis score seemed inevitable, but it never transpired.
I'd certainly take that score again.
of course city are favorites but a liverpool victory wouldn't really surprise me. sterling missing a sitter, salah scoring a wonder goal its all happend before and just might again.
City favourites to go through but it wouldn’t shock me if we did.
Should be two good games though and hopefully we can come through.
It would be an upset if Liverpool overcame City that's for sure.
Would I be surprised if they did, not really
Hopefully it's a great showpiece for attacking football from Prem sides

City will go through at a canter. City have already scored eight goals against Liverpool this season. Not even up for debate.
City will rack up their dozen goals against Liverpool for the season in this tie.

I think the jinx is something in your imagination, as the article I put up the other day with an almost 95 per cent success rate this season on my predictions on the 606 board. Nice try though.

That's it, spot on!
We played Juventus, who were in the finals of champions league twice in the last three years, and who did Liverpool? Porto, Maribor - who are they? Exactly! AND Seville, though nearly lost to them
For a club that's winged it So far, you guys over confident!
Its like City don't have 20+ points on you?
Whatever happens, just hope both sides give a good accounts of themselves.
Hoping for a brand of attacking football from both sides
Spurs may not be in it anymore, but no stage did we disappoint in our playing style.
We can hold our head high.
The evidence so far is
Anfield
5-4
Etihad
5-0
