Well ask a fooking sensible question and you’ll probably get a sensible answer 👍🏻
Harj, I think those long contracts will cost us significantly. We may need to pay people off even if they sign elsewhere.
Won’t be able to give Half the players away.
Terrible management by the club
Nothing wrong with either question as I see it.
We need more than one midfielder, we need both culture and steel with people who can read the game, just getting one midfield general isn't going to cut it.
An aside, I note that since leaving us on loan, Klich is playing regularly for Utrecht (fifth in the Dutch top league), is it we sign nomark players or that the coaching has been so poor this year? I refuse to accept that the Dutch Eredivisie is so poor that even one of our failures can start pretty much every game in that league.

I have no view on him, because rightly or wrongly he barely played
May not have fitted in with Christiansen's plans but I fail to see how a guy who starts every game for a club in a top European league can be worse than Phillips or O'Kane. Poor coaching from the start of the season coming home to roost in my view, not just a lack of ability in the squad.

Isn't Pablo our midfield general?
He certainly plays in midfield.
Thinking of the Wilko team Wakey, is it a Batty, Speed, Gary Mc or Strachan type we need?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All of the above, Acid☺
Anyone think Orta could ever come close to piecing together a midfield that could be even close to that one. Greatest Leeds midfield ever.
Notice it's Terry Yorath's Birthday, happy birthday Terry.
Why would we be after a right back
Ayling
Baradi
Coyle
----------------------------
You asked the above, which is a fair question when we're being linked with another RB. In theory the Barnsley lad is an improvement on both Berardi (who I like as a squad player, not 1st choice RB) and i'm really not convinced Coyle is the answer for a club wanting to improve.
So that left Ayling, a player I like. I don't see him as happy to warm a bench back up to a new bloke, so if the interest in Yiadom is serious (hypothetically, as right now it's just journalism), then where does that leave Luke? Either sold or moved to where he played for Arsenal youth alongside Bartley perhaps?
My question was just that, a question. Why is it so stupid when answering what you put above?
Forgot to add to my last post .........

Does ayling look a centre half and how has played for us in that position ???
That should answer your question
If you are not looking to keep lassoga than mcburnie is a decent shout.
Yiadom is an interesting one, however unless ayling or berardi is out of contract than I don’t see the point.
However if either one of those is wanting oitbthen he would be a good player to bring in.
I hate it when people look at a team and say because a player plays for them he must not be good enough.
That’s just not how it works
To be fair Orta’s recruitment at TA has been pretty good

I'm not sure what a CB looks like, but I seem to remember he covered there last season and didn't do too bad.
I take your point though. In an ideal world I want a better CB brought in to work along side Pontus - not move and dovetail in existing players. My original point was trying to second guess thoughts behind the scenes, if we're expressing an interest in another RB, then why when seemingly it's one of the few positions we're fairly well covered in. I'm really not trying to justify or endorse Luke as a CB, just wondering what logic is behind the potential Yiadom signing.
a fully fit luke ayling at rb is vital for next season, one of very few quality players at the club and so surprise to me that we have struggled without him.
Could he play further forward, partnering forshaw in midfield for example.
No.
Play him as a rightback and bring in someone to play with Forshaw
So let’s play our best full back in a position he’s never played
Doesn't mean he cannot do it, Paul Madeley of the 2010's.
But yes I agree with Matty, see little point in signing the Barnsley lad just for the sake of it.
Mind you, got a lot of time for Bera but he's not going to be in any top six side.
I’m seeing berardi more and more as a Hughes player.
Great squad player and want him on the bench as he is a good rightback and could slot in on leftback or maybe even centreback if we picked up an injury during a game.
But I just don’t see him as a first team regular
VOF you’re assuming Pontus is here next season.
Jonty - I am yes. Sadly i'm not convinced he will be.
It'll depend on how he sees the club identifying team mates and whether or not he sees another season of attrition ahead.
There's also the small matter of a WC ahead. If he gets game time, if he plays well, then his stock will rise and clubs will circle.
Convinced he will be here next season, do not really see anyone cherry picking our defence, in recent months, without Ayling they have been abysmal, Pontus pretty much an ever present, speaks volumes.
Pontus captains Sweden tonight/tomorrow (when they play next
VOF it’s not just his decision, if AR feels he can make some money and that helps address the excess in wages who knows.
