Spart, you said “all the evidence shows it makes no difference whatsoever”. Not true. The evidence available suggests that the more fruit and veg you eat, the less the chance of illness. There is no evidence AT ALL that it makes no difference whatsoever, if I can put it that way. You can say there are confounding variables and that is true, because people who eat healthier are more likely to take exercise and so on. While that might mean it isn’t possible to be certain about the magnitude of the realtionship it is clear that it exists. You’re letting your old biased mind get in the way of things again.

any pressure that was on us a week ago is off, midweek we dont play so well and could be on a downer after the heights of cardiff, derby have picked up recently and have half a dozen clubs within 5 points of them

It also said that 5 a day didn't really to cut the mustard, (does that count as one your five a day) and that is what I was referring to about a study which showed there was no significant reduction in morbidity and mortality with 5 a day. Also as you know small changes in these studies when translated in to what it means in reality to the individual are negligible, and the changes at the end of life when you might not be fit enough to enjoy. .

It should be noted that living longer isn't that wonderful for lots of people and it is only postponing the inevitable. That said I probably eat more veg than most people.

My father in law battled Alzhiemers for four year before finally succumbing last Thursday. If he knew what was in store for him he'd have given those 4 years up to relieve himself and his family of the suffering that was to come.
