You should mention Kane in the same breath concerning favouritism Ioavirgo, I don't think he should have been playing. Lamela and Son should have started.

Agree OP, of the 5 for the 3 spots behind Kane, lamela is the worst by far

I thought we looked likely second half up until Lamela was subbed off, from the moment Son came on and $ity made changes they gained the upper hand back

That's why I intimated that this thread should be about Kane.

City got in several times due to our poor defending especially via Sanchez who was poor. He should be hammered for his poor play today. He cant try and use his pace every time to fix his poor positional sense. Lamela has been quite good recently and has great work ethic. Not going to hammer him.

We should give Toby what he wants and get in back on the pitch asap.

I think its deeper than that take Verts out and nobody else performed anywhere near well enough altho to be fair maura done ok when he came on

I've been saying Levy needs to give Toby what he wants and stop trying to buy replacements.
With Toby on the pitch we might not have lost this match.
As for Lloris's mistake, it was not a penalty and will be appealed (althought that won't do any good).
Vertonghen is a stalwart for this club. God only knows what Levy will do if he asks for what he's really worth!

Utterly ridiculous the Toby situation I’m afraid. Can’t imagine it’s anything more than Pochs ego that’s stopping him from playing. Miles better than Sanchez, don’t care how much Poch rates him. Any other manager and we’ll be furious but we seem to let him get away with this.

Can we all stop grizzling. First domestic defeat in four months, and all of a sudden according to lots of posters the team is utter dog poo. Get a grip.

Sandy , I don't think people are saying we are rubbish. But I been banging on for months about the Toby situation and have said for ages that we are nowhere near good defensively without him. We need to pay him what he deserves otherwise we run the risk of losing top players every single season.

What would appeal though?

It was never a pen but there is nothing you can appeal. It is also possible Lloris would have been sent off if it has been given outside the box although that would have been harsh IMO.

Lloris needs a break. Sanchez had a nightmare, Vertonghen was huge. Only 2 players properly turned up, I got the feeling our lot just resigned themselves to losing within the first minutes. Getting hard to defend Hugo now. At this stage of the season we need experienced players to perform and lead. If Verty doesn't get SPOTY I'm switching to Arsenal. Ugh.

It was a terrible team performance - you cannot be so slack against a side like City.

It is not the first time we have started really slowly in a big game - think of Juve, Liverpool and Chelsea away. Luckily for us these sides do not have the quality City do, so we were able to finish strongly in each.

More errors from Hugo. Very lucky to stay on the pitch in my opinion, the challenge was wild. The parry for their 3rd was also amateurish, from a shot so close to him. Been poor for a while now, if is truly a meritocracy it is time for him to be dropped for Vorm.

We won't raise to a higher level with Poch, we need a higher level name to do that, a top tier name for the once top tier club in English football. We need an Ancelotti or Klopp level name to do it. Now if Madrid still want Kane they can have him but why they want, or anybody wants an off form player is beyond me but pay us and he can go as now can Hugo, he's becoming a liability. Ancelotti is free so let's approach him.

I might even approach Benitez.
