Why don’t you want to be like Man City ??
You are not one of those having a rich owner somehow steals the soul of the club people are you?
Cause Man U, Man City, Chelsea and all those other clubs that have mega rich owners...their fans are no less passionate, no less involved and a lot more happier with what they have than us.
Don't want to be like Man City - want to be better!
And that's no pipe dream - This Sleeping Giant in the right hands could be the business.
Yup matty
I find it strange why you wouldn’t want
1 To watch some of the best players in the world very week
2 Playing some of the best football in the world
3 in a great stadium with great facilities
4 winning shed loads of trophies
5 having the best training and youth facilities in the world
6 with a long term play for the club to always one of the big clubs in the word
It’s even scarier when you consider where they used to be.
19 seasons ago they were pushing to get out of league 2.
Now they have all that.
Only thing I wouldn't like about being like Man City: where their money comes from makes me uneasy, they are literally dictators. And a load of plastics coming out the woodwork when they didnt care about Leeds when we were in the Championship
A fan base is made up of differing parts. All playing their part. Even the plastics.
Anyone who still subs this notion of not being a fan unless you have a season ticket and stand in the kop is deluded.
Agree with all that, Mike. By plastics I mean people who were Leeds fans in 2002, but now wouldn't say they were a Leeds fan. And if we were good again, they'd suddenly be fans again.
Leeds United and indeed Manchester City had brilliant support whilst in the third tier of English football. This "plastics" nonsense annoys me. It's inevitable you garner more support the more high profile you are when the next generation of supporters start to go through the turnstiles for the first time.
Leeds United, particularly under Bates did nothing to attract new fans yet here we are, still one of greatest supported clubs in Europe if not the world.
In AR we have a better owner than we've seen in many a year.
He's very much in the early part of his tenure and if he learns from his obvious mistakes then he could be the catalyst for a return of Leeds United to the glory days once more.
We have the legacy, we have the support, we have one of football's most iconic grounds, we have the semblance of a club that is getting its non-footballing matters in order.
Get matters on the pitch right and we'll fly.
What worries me about teams like City/Arsenal/Man. utd/Chelsea is that 85% of those players are foreigners. I think there should be a limit on this carry on. Local talent is ignored.
I'm also amused by those that say we aren't a big club anymore.....
Our average attendance is bigger than 11 of those clubs in the top tier of English football. If we we were there today I suspect we'd add at least another 6000 to the current average, taking us within a whisker of Everton.
I think Brexit will change the influx of oversea's players.
We need an experienced scout/recruiter, a new coach with a proven record, 2 new strikers, and keep:
BPF
Ayling
Cooper
Jansson
Berardi (not sure ?)
Forshaw
Alioski
Saiz
Pablo(of course)
Roofe(maybe)
Roberts...
Get rid of the rest.

To be fair AR has probably seen this first hand and wants some of it. He’ll have to invest heavily though if he wants it next season.

That’s possibly why we stocked up on them. I mentioned this last year.
One of the fundamental reasons (for many) for coming out of the EU was to reduce the influx of cheap EU labour. I think we can class many of the EU footballers as the cheaper option - many fans certainly seem to think so.
However I’m sure the best ones will get work permits without much trouble once we leave.

Spot on! We just need the owner to learn from this season and do whatever is needed to move us on.
If Rads learns from this disastrous season where I personally have been very critical of his decision making, some of which has been both stupid and incompetent then I will be as happy as most other Leeds fans but if he goes down the same road again with Orta, the badge fiasco, publicly spouting negative comments about ex managers, demotivating remarks about current players and generally trying to pull the wool over supporters eyes and buying cheap foreign unproven and injured players then he will be treated in the same context as Bates Gfh and Cellino who all flattered to deceive and ultimately rinsed the club senseless.
But aren’t you usually a Championship team?
My dad said you used to be in the First Division which was before the Prem but I’ve never seen ya in the Prem. think me dad is windin me up.
